Abstract: A smart helmet is a wearable device that has attracted attention in various fields, especially in applied sciences, where extensive studies have been conducted in the past decade. In this study, the current status and trends of smart helmet research were systematically reviewed. Five research questions were set to investigate the research status of smart helmets according to the year and application field, as well as the trend of smart helmet development in terms of types of sensors, microcontrollers, and wireless communication technology. A total of 103 academic research articles published in the past 11 years (2009–2020) were analyzed to address the research questions. The results showed that the number of smart helmet applications reported in literature has been increasing rapidly since 2018. The applications have focused mostly on ensuring the safety of motorcyclists. A single-board-based modular concept unit, such as the Arduino board, and sensor for monitoring human health have been used the most for developing smart helmets. Approximately 85% of smart helmets have been developed to date using wireless communication technology to transmit data obtained from smart helmets to other smart devices or cloud servers.

TL;DR: A smart helmet can detect the accident's locations also save lives and makes two-wheeler driving safer from previously and is propounded in this paper.
Abstract: A motorcycle frequently called motorbike or two-wheelers, which is the most used than another form of automobiles because of its low price. But another side, this is the most unsafe automobile. The accident can happen for driving fast or drunk driving. Safety and security in vehicle traveling are a pre-eminent concern for all. With the rapid urbanization and staggering growth of transport networks like two-wheeler vehicles, safety on the roads and security on the bike has emerged as an inescapable priority for us. It has expanded the rate of accidents, which leads to several damages with loss of lives. In many circumstances, we cannot able to detect the accident's location. A helmet is a form of protecting gear worn to keep safe the head from injuries. More specifically, the helmet aids the skull in protecting the brain. A smart helmet can detect the accident's locations also save lives and makes two-wheeler driving safer from previously. This paper propounds a smart helmet system to avoid the accident. The system divides into three parts helmet circuit, automobile circuit, and mobile application. At first, the helmet circuit has IR and alcohol detection sensor. The automobile circuit has a 3-axis accelerometer, Bluetooth module, relay, and load sensor. The helmet circuit sends a signal to the automobile circuit to start if the helmet is wearied and no alcohol detects. Then the automobile circuit checks the status of the load to start. 3-axis accelerometer senses crash or hit. After detecting an accident mobile application sends the accident location automatically to police and emergency contact number via the database.

TL;DR: In this paper, a smart helmet system is proposed which helps in providing safety to the riders and prevents accidents using the rule of wearing the helmet as a base, using this rule as the base, a Smart Helmet System is proposed, which mainly consists of Arduino Uno as a processor for processing the data, GSM & GPS modules for tracking the location and sending a message to authorized numbers, a wiper for wiping the raindrops on the helmet screen, a vibration sensor for alerting, in case the rider meets an accident and alcohol sensors as breath analyzer for the rider
Abstract: Road accidents are becoming very common in the country. The impact of road accidents can lead to the loss of many lives and can also damage many body parts. This situation becomes more serious if the riders won't wear the helmet which can be prevented by wearing the helmet and can reduce these impacts. While riding the bike, the government made it a mandatory rule to wear the helmet. Using this rule as a base, a smart helmet system is proposed which helps in providing safety to the riders and prevents accidents. The system mainly consists of Arduino Uno as a processor for processing the data, GSM & GPS modules for tracking the location and sending a message to authorized numbers, a wiper for wiping the raindrops on the helmet screen, a vibration sensor for alerting, in case the rider meets an accident and alcohol sensors as breath analyzer for the rider. The system will ensure a safe journey for riders and gives a helping hand in case of emergency. The cost of installing the whole system onto the helmet is affordable.

Abstract: Nowadays overpopulated countries like Bangladesh have become a warzone where thousands of people lose their lives and even more become handicapped due to road accidents. With the recent popularity of ride sharing apps like Pathao, Uber Moto, Shohoz etc. the number of bikes in Dhaka city has increased drastically. As bike accidents are becoming quite an alarming issue, we felt the need of an improved bike safety system. In this paper, we have proposed a system that detects bike accidents using MPU6050 (gyro sensor and accelerometer), SIM808 (GPS+GPRS+GSM), Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and Arduino Uno. We have placed the proposed system on the surface of the bike. If an accident occurs, the sensors will trigger and send a message containing the number and location of the biker to the nearest hospitals, police stations and registered family members.

TL;DR: By making use of the ubiquitous connectivity which is a salient feature for the smart cities, a smart helmet for accident detection is built and is appropriately named Konnect.
Abstract: The objective of the smart helmet is to provide a means and apparatus for detecting and reporting accidents. Sensors, Wi-Fi enabled processor, and cloud computing infrastructures are utilised for building the system. The accident detection system communicates the accelerometer values to the processor which continuously monitors for erratic variations. When an accident occurs, the related details are sent to the emergency contacts by utilizing a cloud based service. The vehicle location is obtained by making use of the global positioning system. The system promises a reliable and quick delivery of information relating to the accident in real time and is appropriately named Konnect. Thus, by making use of the ubiquitous connectivity which is a salient feature for the smart cities, a smart helmet for accident detection is built.

TL;DR: A smart helmet has been developed that is able to detect of hazardous events in the mines industry and the undertaken design detailing solutions to issues raised in previous research is presented.
Abstract: A smart helmet has been developed that is able to detect of hazardous events in the mines industry. In the development of helmet, we have considered the three main types of hazard such as air quality, helmet removal, and collision (miners are struck by an object). The first is the concentration level of the hazardous gases such as CO, SO2, NO2, and particulate matter. The second hazardous event was classified as a miner removing the mining helmet off their head. An IR sensor was developed unsuccessfully but an off-the shelf IR sensor was then used to successfully determine when the helmet is on the miner's head. The third hazardous event is defined as an event where miners are struck by an object against the head with a force exceeding a value of 1000 on the HIC (Head Injury Criteria). An accelerometer was used to measure the acceleration of the head and the HIC was calculated in software. The layout of the visualisation software was completed, however the implementation was unsuccessful. Tests were successfully done to calibrate the accelerometer. PCB's that were designed and made included a breakout board and a prototype board. A whole software implementation was done based on Contiki operating system in order to do the control of the measuring of sensors and of calculations done with the measured values. This paper presents the undertaken design detailing solutions to issues raised in previous research.

TL;DR: An intelligent system for two wheeler accident prevention and detection for human life safety is provided and Smart Helmet, which automatically checks whether the person is wearing the helmet and has non-alcoholic breath while driving is used.
Abstract: In a developing nation like India, with advancement in the transportation technology and rise in the total number of vehicles, road accidents increases rapidly. This advancement in technology also increased the traffic hazards. Two wheelers accounts for 25% of total road crash death. Hence the ratio of road accidents that take place frequently increases causing immense loss of life due to poor emergency facilities. Main causes behind these road accidents are lack of training institutes, unskilled drivers, poor road conditions, use of cell phone during driving, consuming alcohol while driving, over loading and poor governmental plans in this regard. Plenty of solutions have been applied to prevent these road accidents, like designing stringent rules and regulations. But most of them failed to prevent accidents. This paper provides an intelligent system for two wheeler accident prevention and detection for human life safety. The prevention part involves, Smart Helmet, which automatically checks whether the person is wearing the helmet and has non-alcoholic breath while driving. The relay does not ON the engine if these two conditions are not satisfied. The microcontroller controls the function of relay and thus the ignition. The system also enables detection of an accident at any place and reports about the accident to predefined numbers with GSM module. The Microcontroller continuously records all the parameters of automobile for prevention and detection of accident.

TL;DR: With the increasing number of bike riders and the number of accidents happening each year, this paper focuses on the methods that can be implemented to ensure safety while driving.
Abstract: Intelligence applications are being developed that make machines more sophisticated in their way of learning and to make decisions. Accident is a specific, unpredicted external action that happens unexpectedly with no apparent or deliberate cause but with marked effects. With the increasing number of bike riders and the number of accidents happening each year our paper focuses on the methods that can be implemented to ensure safety while driving. Distraction of the driver's attention is the major cause of these accidents. Nowadays wearing helmet has been made mandatory. But still the rules are being violated. Message transmitting sensors are equipped in the speedometer of bike and also in the bike's helmet. The most important feature of the bike is that the bike's engine gets start only when the person wears helmet. This system also checks the approaching vehicle's speed on either side of the road and generate vibrations in the bike's handlebar. This advanced development is bringing about a new era of productivity for the latest ideas on an astounding scale, understanding their efficiency, speed and functionality.

Abstract: Industrial safety is one of the main aspects of industry specially mining industry. In the mining industry safety is a very vital factor. To avoid loss of material and damaging of human health, protection system as well as faithful communication system is necessary inside the underground mines. To increase both safety and productivity in mines, a reliable communication must be established between workers, moving in the mine, and a fixed base station. Inside mines, the wired communication system is not so effective, because of wires can be damaged inside mines. In this project we are going to monitor the Mine parameters like abnormal gas, temperature and fire sensors to avoid the harmful gas or high temperature attacking the Mine workers. In this project to avoid loss of material and damaging of human health in mine workers because of using text to voice converter .The text to voice converter gives continues information inside the mine workers and also cameras are used to video monitoring
