Morphological phylogenetic analysis of living and fossil chloranthaceae
TL;DR: A parsimony analysis was carried out using morphological data from 38 extant and six fossil species, and the resulting cladograms support the monophyly of the Chloranthaceae as well as the four extant genera Chloranthus, Sarcandra, Ascarina, and Hedyosmum.
Journal ArticleDOI
A taxonomic study of labiatae and related genera
A. El-Gazzar,L. Watson +1 more
TL;DR: Fifty-seven genera gain support but twenty-five are heterogeneous in that species form groups not conforming with present generic boundaries, which results in an arrangement which does not reflect the present family boundary.
Journal ArticleDOI
Trichome morphology in Teucrium L. (Labiatae). A taxonomic review
Teresa Navarro,Jalal El Oualidi +1 more
TL;DR: The trichomes type of the calyx teeth, abaxial side of the leaf and latero-posterior corolla lobes can be used as a distinctive taxonomic character at specific and infra-specific level and supports Bentham's delimitauon of sections with the addiuons subequently made by Boissier.
Journal ArticleDOI
The piperales and the monocots
TL;DR: The Piperales, Arales, and some Najadales exhibit relationships that span the most profound dichotomy in angiosperms, and it is argued that these plants represent very ancient lineages.

Observations on functional wood histology of vines and lianas: vessel dimorphism, tracheids, vasicentric tracheids, narrow vessels, and parenchyma
TL;DR: Adaptations which seem to lend safety to the hydrosystem are much less in vines and lianas of perpetually moist tropical regions than they are in taxa subject to periods of drought or frost.
