Journal ArticleDOI

Dispersed cuticles from the Eocene of North America

TL;DR: Different dispersed cuticle types can be recognized and may be used biostratigraphically to characterize geologic strata, palaeo-ecologically to provide insights into environmental reconstruction, and systematically to follow the history of certain taxa.
Journal ArticleDOI

Venation skeleton-based modeling plant leaf wilting

TL;DR: A venation skeleton-driven method for modeling and animating plant leaf wilting is presented and techniques have been applied to simulate plant leaf surface deformation resulted from biological responses of plant wilting.
Journal ArticleDOI

Slimy leaves and oily seeds: Distribution and use of wild relatives of sesame in Africa

TL;DR: In this paper, a cultural, ecological, economic, geographical and historical study of the close wild relatives of sesame in Africa is presented along with ethnographic and linguistic data along with a summary of the genetic resources of Sesamum.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Morphological Cladistic Analysis of Olacaceae

TL;DR: Optimization of trophic mode on the consensus tree shows that root hemiparasitism had a single origin in Santalales, and Examination of character transformations confirms several assumptions of evolutionary trends within Olacaceae and Santalale, but others appear to be more complex than expected.
Journal ArticleDOI

Viburnales: cytological features and a new circumscription

TL;DR: Cornaceae, and Hydrangeaceae point to a very close relationship between the Viburnaceae, Sambucaceae and Adoxaceae, corroborating the inclusion of these families into an order different from the Dipsacales, namely the VIBurnales.
