Arduino based real-time wireless temperature measurement system with GSM based annunciation

AbstractIn this paper, an Arduino-based real time wireless temperature measurement and logger system is presented Wireless transmission of the temperature data occurs via a Bluetooth link An experimental setup to achieve reliable output was prepared using LM35 temperature sensor The real time temperature information obtained was observed at MATLAB® Graphical User Interface and at mobile phones via a basic hybrid mobile application (Android, Windows, ios) designed by us Experimental result and percentage error curve endorse the reliability and feasibility of the proposed system Moreover, a Global System of Mobile (GSM) module is also used for sending alert messages to a pre-assigned mobile number when an alarm condition is achieved

Abstract: Many fire situations have represented the loss of lives and material costs due to the lack of early fire detection through smoke or gas sensing, which can become complex and critical Meanwhile, engineers worldwide develop and test multiple systems for smoke and gas detection, commonly based on sensor networks, digital image processing, or computer vision Furthermore, the detection system must work thoroughly with alarms and warnings that aware of a risk situation for prompt evacuation of the population in the surroundings based on a reliable data network topology with adequate device deployments that will let us know the moment a fire outbreak This paper presents a low-cost Internet of Things (IoT) prototype for fire detection in outdoor environments based on sensors and Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN), focused on the accuracy in the temperature and gas measurement at the moment a fire starts For its achievement, we integrated wireless components, development boards, and electronic devices, following the management of information updates through a database schema for the alarm settings based on the data gathered from the sensors

Abstract: Now Technology has spread in every field of our lives. In present era, Everybody is having some kind of connectivity with technology whether in form of mobile, laptop or others. Here we are going to discuss the use of technology in field of home security. In this system, we are using ARDUINO UNO microcontroller board. This system is based on door lock security with the help of 2 high level security passwords and simultaneously the system would be connected with owner’s mobile phone through GSM Module So that the owner could open the door from remote location also. When any authorized would try to open the door, he would have to enter 2 passwords when asked to do so. If he enters right passwords then the door will get open. But in case, he enters any of the two or both passwords wrong then the system would get alert and send a message to the owner to ask him whether it is he or not and work accordingly. This system will be guard to Homes, Shops, Banks and institutions etc.

Abstract: This work focuses on exploiting the IoT (Internet-of-Things) technology by measuring certain physical like parameters and getting that data over a cloud. The data can be stored in realtime and could be monitored on ThingSpeak Channel which is an open source cloud platform. In this project work, a dedicated ThingSpeak channel was created by the user for this purpose. The parameters measured were temperature and humidity only and an integrated due point, humidity, temperature measurement sensor DHT11 was deployed for the purpose. The system reads and transmits the measured data wirelessly using Wi-Fi protocol through ESP8266 enabled NodeMCU board. Hence the communication established between NodeMCU and ThingSpeak platform is through a local hotspot Wi-Fi network established by the user. The code has been edited and compiled in the Arduino IDE and the working hardware prototype will validate the work. Abstract: Now a days, Home Security threat is the most challenging task in our life. To overcome this threat, our houses must be Smart. We can make our home Smart and secure. The technology gives us the opportunity to increase the connectivity of various devices hence we can get an overall security solution. Moreover, as the area of GSM Mobile is widening, we can remotely control and monitor the network enabled devices. The device can also send signal to the remote person whom we want to notify about the threat. The use of this system would be user-friendly, flexible and cost effective. GSM technology is simple, flexible and very reliable to use. Designed for global market, SIM800 is a quad-band GSM/GPRS module that works on frequencies GSM 850MHz, EGSM 900MHz, DCS 1800MHz and PCS 1900MHz. SIM800 features GPRS multi-slot class 12/ class 10 (optional) and supports the GPRS coding schemes CS-1, CS-2, CS-3 and CS-4. With a tiny configuration of 24*24*3mm, SIM800 can meet almost all the space requirements in users’ applications, such as M2M, smart phone, PDA and other mobile device. It is broadly used transceiver standard.

Abstract: The emergence of new technologies allows better monitoring of traffic conditions and understanding of urban network dynamics. Bluetooth technology is becoming widespread, as it represents a cost-effective means for capturing road traffic in both arterials and motorways. Although the extraction of travel time from Bluetooth data is fairly straightforward, data reliability and processing is still challenging with the issues of penetration rate, mode discrimination, and detection quality. This paper presents a methodological contribution to the use of Bluetooth data for the spatiotemporal analysis of a large urban network (Brisbane, Australia). It introduces the concept of the Bluetooth origin–destination (B-OD) matrix, which is built from a network of 79 Bluetooth detectors located within the Brisbane urban area. The B-OD matrix describes the dynamics of a subpopulation of vehicles, between pairs of detectors. The results show that the characteristics of urban networks can be effectively represented through B-OD matrices. A comparison with loop detector data enables an assessment of the results' significance. Then, the spatiotemporal structure of the network is analyzed with two different clustering analyses, namely, latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA) and $K$ -means. While LDA is used to detect a temporal pattern, the $K$ -means algorithm highlights Bluetooth fundamental diagram (BFD) classes. The results show that Bluetooth data has the potential to be a reliable data source for traffic monitoring. By highlighting hidden structures of a large area, the algorithm outputs allow us to provide the road operators with a fine spatiotemporal analysis of their network, in terms of traffic conditions.

Abstract: Deficiency in fresh water resources globally has raised serious alarms in the last decade. Efficient management of water resources play an important role in the agriculture sector. Unfortunately, this is not given prime importance in the third world countries because of adhering to traditional practices. This paper presents a smart system that uses a bespoke, low cost soil moisture sensor to control water supply in water deficient areas. The sensor, which works on the principle of moisture dependent resistance change between two points in the soil, is fabricated using affordable materials and methods. Moisture data acquired from a sensor node is sent through XBEE wireless communication modules to a centralized server that controls water supply. A user-friendly interface is developed to visualize the daily moisture data. The low-cost and wireless nature of the sensing hardware presents the possibility to monitor the moisture levels of large agricultural fields. Moreover, the proposed moisture sensing method has the ability to be incorporated into an automated drip-irrigation scheme and perform automated, precision agriculture in conjunction with de-centralized water control.

Abstract: Wireless sensor networks take a major part in our everyday lives by enhancing systems for home automation, healthcare, temperature control, energy consumption monitoring, and so forth. In this paper we focus on a system used for temperature regulation for residential, educational, industrial, and commercial premises, and so forth. We propose a framework for indoor temperature regulation and optimization using wireless sensor networks based on ZigBee platform. This paper considers architectural design of the system, as well as implementation guidelines. The proposed system favors methods that provide energy savings by reducing the amount of data transmissions through the network. Furthermore, the framework explores techniques for localization, such that the location of the nodes can be used by algorithms that regulate temperature settings.

Abstract: In this paper, a Bluetooth-based sensor network is presented. Based on a Piconet, the proposed network supports Web-server capabilities, allowing the wireless sensors to be accessed by commercial browsers through the Internet. An experimental setup has been realized using three temperature sensors, and related information has been viewed by PC clients. Measurements about power dissipation, area coverage, and response time confirm the proposed network feasibility and effectiveness.
