TLDR
In this paper, the authors evaluated four commercially available tests in patients hospitalized for COVID-19 and found that two out of four antigen tests correctly identified subjects with high viral loads (Ct ≥ 25), and three out of the four tests detected more than 80% of subjects with a Ct ≥ 30, which is considered the threshold for infectivity.

Viral dynamics and duration of PCR positivity of the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron variant

TL;DR: While Omicron infections feature lower peak viral RNA and a shorter clearance phase than Delta infections on average, it is unclear to what extent these differences are attributable to more immunity in this largely vaccinated population or intrinsic characteristics of the Omicrons variant.

Rapid, point-of-care antigen tests for diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection

- 22 Jul 2022 -
TL;DR: In this article , the second update of this review was published, which was first published in 2020, and included 152 evaluations of single test applications including 100,462 unique samples (16,822 with confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection or known absence of infection).

Field evaluation of a rapid antigen test (Panbio™ COVID-19 Ag Rapid Test Device) for COVID-19 diagnosis in primary healthcare centres.

TL;DR: The data suggested that patients with RT-PCR-proven COVID-19 testing negative by RAD are unlikely to be infectious, and the Panbio™ CO VID-19 Ag Rapid Test Device performed well as a POCT for early diagnosis in primary healthcare centers.

Accuracy of a nucleocapsid protein antigen rapid test in the diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

TL;DR: With RT-PCR assay as reference standard, NP antigen testing by FIC assay shows high specificity and relative high sensitivity in SARS-CoV-2 diagnosis in the early phase of infection.
