01 Jan 1975-Australian Journal of Chemistry (CSIRO PUBLISHING)-Vol. 28, Iss: 2, pp 457-460
TL;DR: In this paper, two alkamides have been isolated from the leaves of the Pleiospermium alatum (Rutaceae) and named alatamide and n-benzoyltyramine methyl ether, respectively.
Abstract: Two alkamides have been isolated from the leaves of Pleiospermium alatum (Rutaceae). On the basis of spectral and chemical evidence the new alkamide, designated alatamide, has been identified as N-(E)-(p- methoxystyryl)benzamide (1). The second compound has been characterized as N-benzoyltyramine methyl ether (2) by hydrolysis experiments and synthesis.
