TLDR
The relation between external arrays contextual P systems and external array contextual grammars with regular control is obtained and some properties of these systems are discussed.
Abstract
We define external and internal array contextual P systems, which generate rectangular arrays. We also introduce external array contextual P systems with erased contexts. Some properties of these systems are discussed. We obtain the relation between external array contextual P systems and external array contextual grammars with regular control.

An Overview of 2D Picture Array Generating Models Based on Membrane Computing

TL;DR: The objective of this survey is to review and describe the salient features of the major types of array P systems, which have served as the basis for developing other kinds ofarray P systems.

Parallel contextual array P systems

TL;DR: New P system models are introduced, called as external and internal parallel contextual array P systems, based on the external andinternal parallel contextual arrays grammars, which can generate rectangular arrays with the help of external or internal parallel row and column contextual array rules.

Parallel contextual array P systems

TL;DR: A parallel mode of application of the contextual array rules in the regions of an array P system is considered, which means that the number of membranes needed in the constructions of the PCAP for picture array generation is reduced in comparison with the sequential counterpart.

Parallel Contextual Array Insertion Deletion P System

TL;DR: A new P system model is introduced called as parallel contextual array insertion deletion P system, based on the modified row and column contextual rules of Parallel contextual array grammar, which can generate a family of two-dimensional picture languages using this P system.

Computing with Membranes

TL;DR: It is proved that the P systems with the possibility of objects to cooperate characterize the recursively enumerable sets of natural numbers; moreover, systems with only two membranes suffice.

Picture languages with array rewriting rules

TL;DR: Generative models of picture languages with array rewriting rules are presented and each letter of the alphabet of different sizes can be generated by a context-free array grammar.
