TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a unified approach to the practical understanding of the phenomena and mechanisms involved in gas fluidization, and include worked examples and design equations in the text to enable readers to make their own practical calculations, and there are also extensive up to date references at the end of each chapter.
Abstract: The technique of gas fluidization has a wide range of industrial applications for such processes as drying, combustion, and granulation. The intention here is to give the reader a clear overall picture of current practice, and to this end, all aspects of fluidized systems are covered. The contributors to this book have a unified approach to the practical understanding of the phenomena and mechanisms involved in gas fluidization. They have included worked examples and design equations in the text, to enable readers to make their own practical calculations, and there are also extensive up to date references at the end of each chapter. The contributors are all experts in the particular area of gas fluidization about which they have chosen to write, and are all internationally acclaimed authorities in the field. They have written with the practising engineer in mind, and the book will be essential reading for engineers of all disciplines who make use of gas fluidization technology. Students and researchers in the broader field of chemical engineering should also find topics of interest here.
