Abstract: From the Publisher: Database Access with Visual Basic's major emphasis is on solutions, not technology. Rather than rattling off a list of features, diagrams and acronyms, this book provides step-by-step examples of the most important techniques developers typically go through to create database applications. Learn how to design a database, build the user interface, write queries, and construct a three-tiered client server system based on ADO 2.0, RDO, COM, SQL Server or Oracle. Find out "what's new?" in Visual Basic 6 as it applies to data access strategies. Receive more information on different types of SQL queries and differences between the Access and SQL Server dialects.

Abstract: This project was to design a Minor Tracking Program for Millsaps College. Millsaps is currently capable of tracking a student's major. There is, however, no system that allows an advisor to track her/his student's proximity to a minor. For instance, as an example, Dr. Fermon may want to get a list of all her students and the minors that each is within 8 hours of obtaining. The Minor Tracking Program will output a list with the following columns: Student name, Student SSN, Minor Name, and # of Hours to Obtain that minor. All minors that each student is within 2 classes of obtaining will be listed.

Abstract: In the paper it is summarized for the realities that Internet has a great impact on the development of science and technology and people’s behavior as well as potential action of its on the future scientific and technical progress in mechanical engineering. The conception of Remote Engineering Data Management (REDM) for international team work in machinery design is proposed. Also methods of REDM are studied. An example of application of REDM is given out.
