Abstract
During the past decade, design-based research has demonstrated its potential as a methodology suitable to both research and design of technology-enhanced learning environments (TELEs). In this paper, we define and identify characteristics of design-based research, describe the importance of design-based research for the development of TELEs, propose principles for implementing design-based research with TELEs, and discuss future challenges of using this methodology. Helping Clinical Educators Provide Effective Feedback to Medical Trainees on Their Diagnostic Decision Making: An Educational Design Research Approach

TL;DR: This research is the first research to specifically address how feedback after DDM can be better provided to medical trainees and shows that the PFM feedback can be given as an add on to feedback usually provided.

ARmatika: 3D game for arithmetic learning with Augmented Reality technology

TL;DR: The application of Augmented Reality technology in digital game is a series of efforts made to create a better visualization effect in order to improve the learning motivation through competitive process.

Writing as a Tool to Demonstrate Mathematical Understanding.

TL;DR: The authors examined how using a writers' workshop model in mathematics creates a space for students to write about their mathematical thinking and problem solving and how their writing impacts instruction and found that students used writing to demonstrate their understanding of mathematics and show their mathematical processes.

Using design-based research to bring partnership between researchers and practitioners

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe their experience of using DBR to co-design a professional development (PD) program that was responsive to a particular context and practitioners' needs, and illustrate and exemplify the ways in which the researcher-practitioner collaboration itself sits at the heart of the design process and enabled solutions to be found.

Development Research of a Teachers' Educational Performance Support System: The Practices of Design, Development, and Evaluation.

TL;DR: Examination of a proposed instructional design framework based on Ausubel’s (The psychology of meaningful verbal learning, 1963) advance organizer theoretical approach could be used to address inherent problems of technically driven PSSs indicated that the advance organizer concept combined with a matrix design metaphor provided an effective way to illustrate conceptual connections and relations among PSS modules.

Design Experiments: Theoretical and Methodological Challenges in Creating Complex Interventions in Classroom Settings

TL;DR: The lion's share of my current research program is devoted to the study of learning in the blooming, buzzing confusion of inner-city classrooms, and central to the enterprise is that the classroom must function smoothly as a learning environment before the authors can study anything other than the myriad possible ways that things can go wrong.

Participatory Action Research

TL;DR: Whyte as discussed by the authors discusses the role of the social scientist in participatory action research in agricultural research and development in the context of agricultural data collection and data sharing in the field of agricultural research.

Design Experiments in Educational Research

TL;DR: Design experiments have both a pragmatic bent and a theoretical orientation as mentioned in this paper, developing domain-specific theories by systematically studying those forms of learning and the means of supporting them, and the authors clarify what is involved in preparing for and carrying out a design experiment, and conduct a retrospective analysis of the extensive, longitudinal data sets generated during an experiment.
