TLDR
The present result suggests that the adrenocortical response may be modulated with the increase of age, the amount of protein supplemented in the diet and its duration of supplementation.About:

Thymocytes, Pre‐B Cells, and Organ Changes in a Mouse Model of Chronic Ethanol Ingestion—Absence of Subset‐Specific Glucocorticoid‐Induced Immune Cell Loss
Robert T. Cook,Annette J. Schlueter,Ruth A. Coleman,Lorraine T. Tygrett,Zuhair K. Ballas,Thomas R. Jerrells,Marcus B. Nashelsky,Nancy B. Ray,Thomas H. Haugen,Thomas J. Waldschmidt +9 more
TL;DR: It is confirmed that chronic ethanol in water administration to mice does not produce net elevations of corticosterone, although diurnal variation is altered and this model of ethanol administration is convenient, sustainable for up to 1 year, demonstrably feasible in several mouse strains, permits good weight gains in most strains, and results in significant changes in a number of organs.

Calorie restriction improves aging-induced impairment of cognitive function in relation to deregulation of corticosterone status and brain regional GABA system.
TL;DR: It is suggested that aging down-regulates brain regional GABA system with an up-regulation of corticosterone status and impairment of cognitive function and CR diet consumption improves this aging-induced deregulation of brain Regional GABA system, cortic testosterone status, and cognitive function.

Dietary protein-carbohydrate ratio : Exogenous modulator of immune response with age
Sudipta Pal,Mrinal K. Poddar +1 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that diets with variable dietary protein-carbohydrate ratios act as an exogenous modulator of immune response with age and LP-HC diet may be beneficial to slow down/reduce the impairment ofimmune response in aged individuals.

Hypothalamic GABA-ergic activity and T-cell proliferation in aged mammal: effect of dietary protein
TL;DR: The results suggest that long-term consumption of protein-poor or protein-rich diet may be an exogenous modulator of neuroimmune regulation in relation to central GABAergic activity and immune response in aged mammals.

TL;DR: Observations that activated lymphocytes may be sensitive to the lytic effects of glucocorticoids suggest that under certain situations the elimination of selected subsets of cells may be a relevant mechanism of corticosteroid-mediated immunoregulation in man.
