Long-distance spread of Tembusu virus, and its dispersal in local mosquitoes and domestic poultry in Chongming Island, China
TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper investigated the role of migratory birds in the spread of mosquito-borne pathogens and their prevalent status on the island of Chongming in China, where approximately 67,800 adult mosquitoes belonging to ten species were collected to investigate the presence of flavivirus, alphavirus, and orthobunyavirus by RT-PCR.

Duck egg-drop syndrome caused by BYD virus, a new Tembusu-related flavivirus.
Jingliang Su,Shuang Li,Xudong Hu,Xudong Hu,Xiuling Yu,Yongyue Wang,Peipei Liu,Xishan Lu,Xishan Lu,Guozhong Zhang,Xueying Hu,Di Liu,Li Xiaoxia,Wenliang Su,Hao Lu,Ngai Shing Mok,Peiyi Wang,Ming Wang,Kegong Tian,George F. Gao +19 more
TL;DR: The causative agent of the duck egg drop syndrome occurring in China is a new flavivirus, an emerging and re-emerging zoonotic pathogen and BYD virus that causes severe egg-drop, could be disastrous for the duck industry.

TL;DR: Data suggest that a novel flavivirus (tentatively named T'Ho virus) is present in Mexico, and the genomic sequence of one isolate was determined, and heterogeneous sequences were identified at the distal end of the 5' untranslated region.

Disease and economic burdens of dengue
TL;DR: This report proposes the most comprehensive framework for estimating the economic burden of dengue in any region, differentiated by four very different domains of cost items and by three potential stakeholders who bear the costs.
