Dual band compact inset CPW feed antenna with DGS

Abstract: This paper presents design of antenna for worldwide interoperability for microwave access (2.3–2.4GHz and 2.5–2.69GHz) and Wireless Local area network (2.4–2.484GHz & 5.15 GHz). The proposed design uses inset feed for achieving a good impedance matching with compactness. The fundamental frequency of the design is 2.6 GHz; Implementing defected ground structure provides additional frequency at 5.15 GHz and shifts the fundamental frequency to 2.5GHz. Different lengths of DGS and its effect on antenna performance and resonance frequency are analyzed. High Frequency Structure simulator is used to analyze the design.

Abstract: A coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed dual-wideband antenna formed by a triangular monopole and a U-shaped monopole is presented. The antenna can generate two wide bands centered at about 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz to cover all the 2.4/5.2/5.8 GHz WLAN bands and the 2.5/3.5/5.5 WiMAX bands. Furthermore, the antenna has a simple planar structure and occupies a small size of about 28 X 33 mm2, including the finite ground CPW feeding mechanism. Good dipole-like radiation characteristics over the operating bands are obtained.

Abstract: A compact coplanar waveguide (CPW)-fed planar monopole antenna with triple band operation is presented. By inserting two I-shaped notched slots and a open-ended U-shaped slot on the edge of the radiation patch, and integrating two symmetrical meander microstrip-lines on the upper edge of two rectangular ground planes, three operating bands covering 2.4-2.63, 3.23-3.8 and 5.15-5.98-GHz can be achieved. Moreover, the designed antenna, with compact size of 23-30-mm 2 , can provide excellent characteristics, including better performance of interference suppression, nearly dipole-like radiation pattern and moderate gain for three bands, which prove that the proposed antenna is very suitable for WiFi/WiMAX applications.

Abstract: A Coplanar Waveguide fed double L slot antenna array is proposed for multi-band operation satisfying WLAN and WiMAX. The proposed array antenna comprising two rectangular planar patch elements each embedded with two L shaped slots. For the proposed antenna, the −10 dB return loss is achieved and it reach about −35 dB which covers some of the bandwidth specification of WLAN and WiMAX standards. Due the advantages such a slow cost, small size, low weight and capability to integrate in applications such as mobile phones and laptops the microstrip antennas are used. The parametric study is performed to understand the characteristics of the proposed antenna. It shows that the features of the small antenna structure, good radiation characteristics are promising for multi input multi output operation.
