An improved error concealment algorithm is proposed for the H.264 AVC codec with maintain the PSNR of the video so that the videos get degraded significantly due to the noise, channel rate, congestions of the network etc.
Abstract
The need of successful transmission of video over a wireless network increases day by day. Due to limited capacity of channel bandwidth, network congestion etc. video data rates should be highly compressed for transmission purpose. The H.264 AVC is the latest video codec and proven best to stream over the noisy channels with ATM (Asynchronous Transmission Mode) networks. The videos get degraded significantly due to the noise, channel rate, congestions of the network etc. So here we are proposing an improved error concealment algorithm for the H.264 AVC codec. The lost information is predicted using nearby correctly received MB (Macroblock) and console the lost pixels. The result shows the improved performance of error concealment for H.264 video codec with maintain the PSNR of the video. Keyword:- Motion Estimation (ME), Motion COmpansation (MC), Macroblock (MB), Group of Picture (GOP, Error Concolement).
