In this article, two experiments were carried out at 20 kb pressure for the measurement of partition coefficients of ten lanthanides and barium between diopside clinopyroxene and liquid in the synthetic system of enstatite-silica-H2O.
Abstract
Two experiments were carried out at 20 kb pressure for the measurement of partition coefficients of ten lanthanides and barium between diopside clinopyroxene and liquid in the synthetic system diopside-enstatite-silica-H2O. Starting materials are glass of two different compositions CaMgSi2O6 56, MgSiO3 14, SiO2 30 weight % and CaMgSi2O6 80, MgSiO3 20 weight %.

Petrogenetic implications of Ti, Zr, Y, and Nb variations in volcanic rocks

TL;DR: In this paper, a table of mineral-liquid distribution coefficients for Ti, Zr, Y, and Nb for basic, intermediate and acid melt compositions were used to interpret variations of these elements, first in basalts and second during fractional crystallization from basic to acid magmas.

Quantitative models of trace element behavior in magmatic processes

TL;DR: In this paper, the present status of the utilization of trace elements in igneous processes, which acknowledges the deep-seated conviction of Paul Gast that the trace element approach was at least as powerful as experimental petrology to solve the major petrological problems.

A review of experimental studies of crystal/liquid trace element partitioning

TL;DR: Experimental techniques for examining trace element behavior are reviewed in this paper, and applications of these techniques are described for a variety of partition coefficients including: olivine/liquid, subcalcic pyroxene/ liquid, calcic pyrosene/liquid and perovskite/liquid.

Partition coefficients of rare-earth elements between igneous matrix material and rock-forming mineral phenocrysts—II

TL;DR: In this paper, solid-liquid partition coefficients between phenocrysts and the host lavas have been measured for rare-earth elements by an isotope dilution technique and the consistency of much of the data suggests that most of the phenocryst crystallized under equilibrium, or quasi-equilibrium, conditions.

Trace element partition between two pyroxenes and the host lava

TL;DR: Partition coefficients for +1, +2, +3 and +4 valent trace ions between alkaline olivine basalt lava and the coexisting ortho- and clinopyroxene phenocrysts from Takashima, North Kyushu, Japan, have been determined by neutron activation analysis as mentioned in this paper.
