Boussinesq-type model with boundary-fitted coordinate system

TL;DR: In this article, an efficient numerical method for improved Boussinesq equations is proposed, which facilitates the solution of wave problems with complicated boundaries and topography using the boundary-fitted coordinate system.

The scattering of water waves by an array of circular cylinders in a channel

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple formula is derived for the velocity potential in the vicinity of a cylinder, and in particular on the cylinder surfaces, which allows hydrodynamic quantities such as forces to be easily evaluated.

Scattering of water waves by a wave energy device consisting of a pair of co-axial cylinders in a uniform water having finite channel width

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors consider a floating structure over a cylindrical plate placed at a finite height from the impermeable ocean floor and investigate the effects of various parameters, e.g., drafts, radii, gap between the cylinders and mainly channel width of the device on the wave forces exerted by the cylinders.

Wave loads by an oscillating water column in presence of bottom-mounted obstacle in the channel of finite width

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors solved the problem of diffraction in water waves with consisting of a pair of vertical cylinders in a channel having finite width, and derived the expressions of exciting forces exerted by the cylinders.

Mean drift forces on arrays of axisymmetric structures in a wave tank

TL;DR: In this paper, an approximate method for calculating drift forces on arrays of vertically axisymmetric bodies in a wave tank is presented, assuming that the wave scattering properties of an isolated element and of the array in the open sea are known.

Wave forces on piles: a diffraction theory

R. C. MacCamy, +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a quantitative understanding of the forces developed by wave action against circular piling is presented, where the authors focus on the effect of wave action on circular piling and show that wave action is a powerful force against piling.

Interaction of Plane Waves with Vertical Cylinders

TL;DR: In this paper, the interaction of linear, plane water waves with stationary groups of rigid, vertical, circular cylinders under conditions in which the inertial forces on the cylinders dominate over the drag forces was studied.

Approximation of wave forces on cylinder arrays

TL;DR: In this paper, an approximate method for the estimation of wave forces on groups of fixed vertical cylinders is presented based upon a large spacing approximation and involves replacing scattered diverging waves by plane waves.

Wave Forces on Multiple Vertical Cylinders

TL;DR: In this article, the interscattering of the waves from various cylinders is taken into consideration in the analysis and a direct solution is obtained through a matrix inversion, which may be applied to design large multilegged offshore platforms where drag effects are negligible.
