Abstract
The capacity of time-varying additive Gaussian noise channels with feedback is characterized. Toward this end, an asymptotic equipartition theorem for nonstationary Gaussian processes is proved. Then, with the aid of certain matrix inequalities, it is proved that the feedback capacity C/sub FB/ in bits per transmission and the nonfeedback capacity C satisfy C >

Determinant Maximization with Linear Matrix Inequality Constraints

TL;DR: The problem of maximizing the determinant of a matrix subject to linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) arises in many fields, including computational geometry, statistics, system identification, experiment design, and information and communication theory as discussed by the authors.

When bode meets shannon: control-oriented feedback communication schemes

TL;DR: A general equivalence is shown between feedback stabilization through an analog communication channel, and a communication scheme based on feedback which is a generalization of that of Schalkwijk and Kailath, which shows that the achievable transmission rate is given by the Bode's sensitivity integral formula.

The Capacity of Channels With Feedback

TL;DR: A general feedback channel coding theorem based on Massey's concept of directed information is proved and the average cost optimality equation (ACOE) can be viewed as an implicit single-letter characterization of the capacity.

The Strong Ergodic Theorem for Densities: Generalized Shannon-McMillan-Breiman Theorem

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the sequence of relative entropy densities of a stationary process with probability densities with respect to the Lebesgue measure and a Markov measure with a stationary transition measure converges almost surely.

A general formulation of linear feedback communication systems with solutions

TL;DR: The feedback coding problem for additive noise systems, in which the noise may be colored, nonstationary, and correlated between channels, is formulated in terms of arbitrary linear operations at the transmitting and receiving points, providing a unified approach for deriving new results.

Determinant inequalities via information theory

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the determinant of a positive definite matrix is log-concave and that the ratio of the matrix's determinant to its principal minor is concave.
