Process parameters optimization by bat inspired algorithm of CNC turning on EN8 steel for prediction of surface roughness
TL;DR: In this paper, the Bat algorithm was used to predict the optimal surface value (Ra) and process parameters for EN8 steel turning, which showed that the feed rate is the most important factor affecting the surface roughness.
Influence of hydraulic engine mounts on engine shake based on full vehicle model
Rong Guo,Jun Gao,Xiao-kang Wei +2 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a full vehicle model including hydraulic engine mounts (HEMs) to better describe the characteristics of the vehicle engine shake performance and demonstrated how the powertrain mounting system including the HEM influences the frequency response of vehicle subjected to harmonic excitations from road.

Multi-Island Genetic-Algorithm-Based Approach to Uniquely Calibrate Polycrystal Plasticity Models for Magnesium Alloys
TL;DR: In this paper, an efficient and practical method is proposed to determine the parameter set by dividing the parameters into those for yielding and hardening, thereby significantly reducing the time cost of automatic parameter calibration.

Effect of Assembly Errors on Ground Tooth Surface Deviations for Large-Scale CNC Gear Profile Grinding Machines
TL;DR: In this paper , an approach in the deviation evaluation of ground tooth surfaces taking into account assembly errors is proposed, based on the error transmission chain of the profile grinding system and the conjugate motion relationship between the grinding wheel and the workpiece, the ground tooth model including assembly errors was established using the surface envelope method.

A genetic algorithm for resource-constrained scheduling
TL;DR: Jakiela et al. as discussed by the authors presented a genetic algorithm approach to resource-constrained scheduling using a direct, time-based representation, which was applied to over 1000 small job shop and project scheduling problems (10-300 activities, 3-10 resource types).
Journal ArticleDOI
A genetic local search algorithm for minimizing total weighted tardiness in the job-shop scheduling problem
TL;DR: This paper considers the job-shop problem with release dates and due dates with the objective of minimizing the total weighted tardiness, and shows that the efficiency of genetic algorithms does no longer depend on the schedule builder when an iterated local search is used.

Genetic algorithm-based optimization of cutting parameters in turning processes
Doriana M. D’Addona,Roberto Teti +1 more
TL;DR: An optimization paradigm based on GA for the determination of the cutting parameters in machining operations is proposed in this article, where the GA has been used as an optimal solution finder for finding optimal cutting parameters during a turning process.

Scheduling optimisation of flexible manufacturing systems using particle swarm optimisation algorithm
TL;DR: In this article, different scheduling mechanisms are designed to generate optimum scheduling; these include non-traditional approaches such as genetic algorithm (GA), simulated annealing (SA) algorithm, memetic algorithm (MA) and particle swarm algorithm (PSA) by considering multiple objectives.
