TLDR
In this article, the authors described a system for processing touch inputs with respect to a multipoint sensing device and identifying at least one multipoint gesture based on the data from the multi-point sensing device.
Abstract
Methods and systems for processing touch inputs are disclosed. The invention in one respect includes reading data from a multipoint sensing device such as a multipoint touch screen where the data pertains to touch input with respect to the multipoint sensing device, and identifying at least one multipoint gesture based on the data from the multipoint sensing device.

Pressure-sensitive surface for use with a screen or a display linked to a computer displays fields sensitive to touch pressure for triggering a computer program function related to the appropriate field.

TL;DR: The surface of a screen or display on a monitor and the fields linked to it detect two types of pressure of different intensity that each trigger different functions for a program within the same field as mentioned in this paper.
