Journal ArticleDOI

GLYCAM06: a generalizable biomolecular force field. Carbohydrates.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that deriving dihedral parameters by fitting to QM data for internal rotational energy curves for representative small molecules generally leads to correct rotamer populations in molecular dynamics simulations, and that this approach removes the need for phase corrections in the dihedral terms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design, functionalization strategies and biomedical applications of targeted biodegradable/biocompatible polymer-based nanocarriers for drug delivery

TL;DR: This review will focus on the nature of the polymers involved in the preparation of targeted nanocarriers, the synthesis methods to achieve the desired macromolecular architecture, the selected coupling strategy, and the choice of the homing molecules (vitamins, hormones, peptides, proteins, etc.), as well as the various strategies to display them at the surface of nanoccarriers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Binding Mechanisms in Supramolecular Complexes

TL;DR: The aim of this Review is to describe the crucial interaction mechanisms in context, and thus classify the entire subject of supramolecular chemistry.
Journal ArticleDOI

Automated Solid-Phase Synthesis of Oligosaccharides

TL;DR: Access to certain complex oligosaccharides now has become feasible in a fashion much like the construction of oligopeptides and oligonucleotides.

Comparison of simple potential functions for simulating liquid water

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared the Bernal Fowler (BF), SPC, ST2, TIPS2, TIP3P, and TIP4P potential functions for liquid water in the NPT ensemble at 25°C and 1 atm.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biological roles of oligosaccharides: all of the theories are correct

TL;DR: The only common features of the varied functions of oligosaccharides are that they either mediate ‘specific recognition’ events or that they provide ‘modulation’ of biological processes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Assembly of asparagine-linked oligosaccharides.

TL;DR: The structure of ASPARAGINE-LINKed OLIGOSACCI-IARIDES and transfer-Oligosaccharide Structural Requirements, and Sequence of Processing and Specificity of Processing Enzymes are presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

An all atom force field for simulations of proteins and nucleic acids.

TL;DR: An all atom potential energy function for the simulation of proteins and nucleic acids and the first general vibrational analysis of all five nucleic acid bases with a molecular mechanics potential approach is presented.
