TL;DR: In this work there many different technologies are discussed which emphasize on green computing, related to both the type of communication network and also provide an overview of network energy saving studies in different areas which are involved in data transformation.
Abstract: Currently in networking field green computing technology has made a great impact in the environment, which makes it more efficient and proper use of network resources and less consumption of energy. The concept of Green computing technology in communication network is explained here. The computing technology is considered over communication network and this communication network is broadly categorized as infrastructure (wired) and wireless networks, also called as ADHOC network in which mobile nodes and sensor nodes are responsible for communication. In this work there many different technologies are discussed which emphasize on green computing, related to both the type of communication network and also provide an overview of network energy saving studies in different areas which are involved in data transformation.

TL;DR: A novel routing protocol named genetic algorithm-based energy-efficient routing (GAER) protocol for infrastructure-less Oppnets is proposed, which uses a node’s personal information, and then applies the genetic algorithm (GA) to select a better next hop among a group of neighbour nodes for the message to be routed to the destination.
Abstract: In infrastructure-less opportunistic networks (Oppnets), the routing of messages is a challenging task since nodes are not aware of the network topology and they look for an opportunity to send the message by finding or predicting a best temporary path at each hop towards the destination. As nodes perform various computations for next hop selection, a lot of battery power gets consumed, which in turn reduces the network lifetime. Thus, there is a clear demand for routing protocols for such networks which are energy-efficient and consume lesser power of nodes in forwarding a message. In this paper, a novel routing protocol named genetic algorithm-based energy-efficient routing (GAER) protocol for infrastructure-less Oppnets is proposed. This protocol uses a node's personal information, and then applies the genetic algorithm (GA) to select a better next hop among a group of neighbour nodes for the message to be routed to the destination. With the application of GA, optimal results are obtained that help in the selection of the best possible node as the next hop, which in turn, leads to prolonged battery life. Simulation results show that GAER outperforms the Epidemic, PROPHET, and Spray and Wait protocols in terms of messages delivered, overhead ratio, average residual energy, and number of dead nodes. The results obtained for average latency and average buffer time using GAER are comparable to those obtained for the aforementioned protocols.

TL;DR: This research paper highlights the advantageous use of green computing and its associated approaches through a survey conducted over power consumption in Amity University.
Abstract: The term Green Computing is combination of two words which basically means usage of electronic devices in an efficient way. Green computing is a trend/study which came recently and is about building, designing and operating electronic devices to maximize the efficiency in terms of energy. Green computing includes the manufacturing and disposing of electronic devices including the computer resources such as the monitor, storage devices, CPU, associated subsystems, etc., without causing any ill effect to the environment. Also, one of the important aspects of green computing is recycling of the devices which are used worldwide in IT industry. This research paper highlights the advantageous use of green computing and its associated approaches through a survey conducted over power consumption in Amity University.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a new architecture for wireless networks, aiming at minimal emission from mobile stations, without any additional radiation sources, which abandons the classical transceiver base station design and suggests the augmentation of transceiver BSs with receive only devices.
Abstract: Wireless systems, which include cellular phones, have become an essential part of the modern life. However the mounting evidence that cellular radiation might adversely affect the health of its users, leads to a growing concern among authorities and the general public. Radiating antennas in the proximity of the user, such as antennas of mobile phones are of special interest for this matter. In this paper we suggest a new architecture for wireless networks, aiming at minimal emission from mobile stations, without any additional radiation sources. The new architecture, dubbed Green Cellular, abandons the classical transceiver base station design and suggests the augmentation of transceiver base stations with receive only devices. These devices, dubbed Green Antennas, are not aiming at coverage extension but rather at minimizing the emission from mobile stations. We discuss the implications of the Green Cellular architecture on 3G and 4G cellular technologies. We conclude by showing that employing the Green Cellular approach may lead to a significant decrease in the emission from mobile stations, especially in indoor scenarios. This is achieved without exposing the user to any additional radiation source.

TL;DR: This paper introduces cloud service based memory utilization which is an effective mechanism for allocating memories in cloud computing environment and seeks increasing the efficiency of using the memories in distributed manner.
Abstract: In this paper we are going to propose memory utilization method in cloud computing environment. End-user generates a service request for selecting memory of service based resources. The proposed mechanism enables users to access memories depending on the predefined criteria. Selection method for accessing the memory of a resource is introduced in this paper. Transparency is used as a virtualization, where multiple memories of several resources appear to the user as a single unit. The resources are virtualized and further delivered to the users as services. The aim of this paper is to select a computing memory of a resource by a service request. Service based memory utilization procedure is described in this paper. In particular, this paper seeks increasing the efficiency of using the memories in distributed manner. We introduce cloud service based memory utilization which is an effective mechanism for allocating memories in cloud computing environment. New types of memory architecture have been discussed for maintaining effectiveness in our approach.
