TLDR
The Human Dimension of Fisheries Science: (P. J. Reynolds, N. Dulvy And C. Roberts) uncovers the human dimension of fisheries science as well as the science and management of fisheries, and some of the aspects of management and ecology that have changed over time.

The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species: an assessment of coral reef fishes in the US Pacific Islands

TL;DR: The findings complement IUCN assessment efforts, emphasize the efficacy of large-scale assessment and monitoring efforts in providing quantitative data on reef fish assemblages, and highlight the importance of protecting populations at remote and uninhabited islands where some species included on the I UCN Red List of Threatened Species can be observed in abundance.
Journal ArticleDOI

Contrasting recreational and commercial fishing: Searching for common issues to promote unified conservation of fisheries resources and aquatic environments

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors take a global focus, contrasting the characteristics of commercial and recreational fisheries relevant to conservation and sustainability of exploited fishes in both marine and freshwater environments and provide evidence to support their assertion that the same issues that have led to global fisheries concerns regarding commercial fishing can have equivalent, and in some cases, magnified effects in recreational fisheries.

Learning representations by back-propagating errors

TL;DR: Back-propagation repeatedly adjusts the weights of the connections in the network so as to minimize a measure of the difference between the actual output vector of the net and the desired output vector, which helps to represent important features of the task domain.

Biometery: The principles and practice of statistics in biological research

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a model for the analysis of variance in a single-classification and two-way and multiway analysis of Variance with the assumption of correlation.
