TLDR
In this paper, experimental investigations were carried out for the determination of heat transfer coefficients between corotating and stationary parallel disks with internal heat generation, and the results indicated that present-day designs are conservative and that considerable saving in material can be achieved.

An experimental investigation into impinging forced convection heat transfer from stationary isothermal circular disks

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that the characteristics of crossflow forced convection and that due to impinging flow are different, and the difference between the two types of convection is worthy of mentioning. But, to the best knowledge of these authors, there is no research dealing with forcing convection over a stationary threedimensional disk geometry with the disk-axis parallel to the direction of fluid flow.

Investigation of thermal stress in the rotor of Doubly-Fed Induction Generators at synchronous operating point

TL;DR: In this article, the rotor temperature profile caused by unsymmetrical losses at synchronous operation on the example of a 1.5 MW doubly-fed induction generator was investigated, which was used to tune a thermal model composed of an axial analytical part and a radial finite-element structure.

Heat Transfer Enhancement in a Radial Turbulent Sink Flow Cooling System

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of swirling flow and/or grooved surface on the heat transfer and on the thermo-hydraulic parameter was investigated numerically in a radial sink flow cooling system.

Transient free convective heat transfer from co-rotating concentric disks

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the transient heat transfer coefficients between parallel co-rotating and concentrically stationary disks with internal heat generation, and the experimental model simulates a typical induction motor with unequal losses in the stator and rotor at the startup condition.

Analysis of Ventilation and Cooling System for Induction Motors

TL;DR: In this paper, a new analytical method for a ventilation and cooling system of induction motors to provide precise results in a short period of time by a simple calculation is developed, which can be used to evaluate the performance of the induction motors.

Numerical study on heat transfer in laminar flow through co-rotating parallel disks

TL;DR: In this article, a theoretical model was developed to determine heat transfer performance in laminar flow through a pair of co-rotating parallel circular disks, where dual-stream flow influx enters the flow field from both sides, proceeding radially outward.
