Abstract
The first three eigenvalues and constants for the problem of heat flow to a constant property fluid in established turbulent flow in a round pipe are presented for all important values of Reynolds and Prandtl Moduli. These results permit one to compute heat transfer from nonisothermal pipe walls. Comparisons with experiment are good for all fluids from oils to liquid metals. The thermal entry length and rate of heat transfer for low Prandtl Moduli are shown to depend markedly on the wall-temperature profile.

The prediction of turbulent Prandtl and Schmidt numbers

TL;DR: In this article, more than thirty ways of predicting the relationship between turbulent transfers of momentum and a passive contaminant such as heat or dissolved matter are examined, divided into seven classes, on the basis of method of derivation or field of application.

Heat transfer in annular passages—hydrodynamically developed turbulent flow with arbitrarily prescribed heat flux

TL;DR: In this paper, the problem of turbulent flow heat transfer in a concentric circular tube annulus with fully developed velocity profile and constant heat rate per unit of length is considered, and experimental results are presented for the thermal entry length for a fluid with Pr = 0·7.

Non-Newtonian Fluids in Circular Pipe Flow

TL;DR: In this paper, the heat transfer behavior of viscoelastic fluid in turbulent pipe flow is investigated analytically, and the usual and simplest method is to solve the uncoupled energy equation using the empirically determined velocity profile.

Turbulent heat transfer in the thermal entrance region of a pipe with uniform heat flux

TL;DR: In this article, a thermal entry length is defined as the heated length required to bring the local Nusselt number to within 5 percent of the fully developed value of the fluid.

Turbulent heat transfer in a circular tube with variable circumferential heat flux

TL;DR: In this paper, an analysis for hydrodynamically and thermally fully developed heat transfer in a circular tube with variable circumferential heat flux is presented, which allows prediction of temperature variations when the tube is heated uniformly in the axial direction and non-uniformly around its perimeter.
