18 Dec 2014-International Journal of Computer Applications (Foundation of Computer Science (FCS))-Vol. 108, Iss: 18, pp 9-14
TL;DR: This study implements Code Igniter (CI) framework that support model-view-controller (MVC) programming technique in order to decrease application development time.
Abstract: The concept of learning at any time and any place is unable to get fully implemented yet. The reason is that the currently available e-learning system requires a personal computer to access it. Moreover, users need to find convenient place to access the e-learning. In order to implement the concept, an applications of electronic distance learning that run on mobile device, such as cell phone, personnel digital assistant (PDA), or smart phone, is needed. The application is called mobile learning (m-learning). A different approach to design m-learning application is required due to the differences in mobile device and personal computer nature. This study implements Code Igniter (CI) framework that support model-view-controller (MVC) programming technique in order to decrease application development time. It may happen since Code Igniter provides a set of libraries that provides basic functionality to solve common problems. Using Code Igniter, developers no longer need to develop application from scratch and may directly focus on the codes that build m-learning application functionality.

TL;DR: These studies present the design and implementation of a website using CodeIgniter Framework for Commercial Vehicle Ticket Reservation System and proved that the development was standardized and the non-commercial enterprise logic relationship of the etransport system was automatically processed.
Abstract: With traditional strategies to design websites comes with many obstacles, many limitations, timeconsuming and other relative errors. Subject to this reason, new technology like MVC pattern frameworks was discovered through some organizations to address such problems. The task of manual schedule and verification of travellers' booked tickets is laborious, time-consuming and the accuracy of the manual booking system is in question. Therefore, it was a mind set of computerizing these activities. These studies present the design and implementation of a website using CodeIgniter Framework for Commercial Vehicle Ticket Reservation System. The load test functional behavior and measurement of performance was determined. The final result proved that the development was standardized and the non-commercial enterprise logic relationship of the etransport system was automatically processed. These include Commuter companies, travellers, Human resources management activities and booking activities, thus helping transporters to efficiently handle their road transport business and other related activities.

TL;DR: Kabupaten Bogor as mentioned in this paper merupakan salah satu daerah di Jawa Barat ying berpotensi mengalami bencana tanah longsor.

TL;DR: This paper presents a practical approach to m-learning and calls it "mobile interactive learning objects" (MILOs) which are used within a mobile learning engine (MLE) that runs on mobile phones.
Abstract: The widespread use of mobile phones (in Europe often called "handles") enables a long awaited dream: learning at any place, at any time. This "not being tied to particular locations" is for example especially interesting in the area of medicine i.e. for vocational training of medical staff and students. As the amount of medical information continues to grow, timely access to information is critical to medical personnel. However, such applications can not be the 1:1 transformation of standard computerized learning material; special design issues must be considered. In this paper we present a practical approach to m-learning and call it "mobile interactive learning objects" (MILOs) which are used within a mobile learning engine (MLE) that runs on mobile phones. MILOs can offer manifold possibilities for new kinds of communication and explorative learning.

TL;DR: The functionalities that should be provided by e- learning and m-learning are analyzed and presented in a general mobile learning platform that is extension to traditional LMS and thus able to provide all possible e-learning services and additional specific services to the mobile users.
Abstract: With the advances in mobile technologies it is already possible to support learners and teachers activities on the move. Nevertheless the interoperation between a Learning Information Systems and mobile technology is still weakly explored. We analyzed the functionalities that should be provided by e-learning and m-learning and present them in a general mobile learning platform. It is extension to traditional LMS and thus able to provide all possible e-learning services and additional specific services to the mobile users. Such a system should have three main functionalities Context Discovery , Mobile Content Management and Presentation Adaptation and Packaging and Synchronization .

TL;DR: In this article, the authors outline the components of a mobile education system and list selected examples of universities employing m-education and several possible approaches in designing and installing such a system are discussed.
Abstract: This paper outlines the components of a mobile education system and lists selected examples of universities employing m-education.* Several possible approaches in designing and installing such a system are discussed. The main focus is on a project called WELCOME (Wireless E- Learning and Communication Environment) at the University of Regensburg. We argue that mobile/electronic education should not attempt to replace traditional education with tutors and instructors but support both student and teacher by providing services that facilitate teaching, learning, and education-related administrative tasks. The basic approach is integrative, combining a variety of devices (mobile and non-mobile) via a variety of transmitting techniques (wired and wireless).
