TL;DR: In this paper, the finite element method is applied to determine the vibration behavior numerically, and experimental results are obtained with the help of a laser doppler vibrometer in order to determined the origin of these two eigenmodes.
Abstract: In the experimental vibration analysis of an oil pan, two eigenmodes are observed that did not appear to be those of a standard rectangular plate vibration. As a result, a numerical, analytical and experimental investigation is launched to discover where these modes are originating from. In this paper, the finite element method is applied to determine the vibration behavior numerically, and experimental results are obtained with the help of a laser doppler vibrometer in order to determine the origin of these two eigenmodes.

TL;DR: In this paper, a brief study about the composites, governing equations for analysis, manufacturing methods, and performance analysis of composites with and without discontinuities is presented, and the outcomes corresponding to deviations of parameters like aspect ratio, boundary conditions, hole size on composite are discussed.
Abstract: This paper presents a brief study about the composites, governing equations for analysis, manufacturing methods, and performance analysis of composites with and without discontinuities. Study is done about the utility of plate theories like Classical Laminated Plate Theory, First-Order Shear Deformation Theory, and Higher-Order Shear Deformation Theory in analysis of composite plates with and without holes. Analytical methods like Rayleigh–Ritz are also studied. Some experimental aspects for analysing the various methods in use have been highlighted. The outcomes corresponding to deviations of parameters like aspect ratio, boundary conditions, hole size on composite are discussed. This study will helpful for researchers in this domain to choose carefully among the various theories and analyses techniques available for their further research.

TL;DR: In this paper, an analytical investigation of the vibrations of thermally stressed orthotropic plates in the prebuckled region is presented, covering the broad class of trapezoidal plates with two opposite sides parallel.
Abstract: An analytical investigation of the vibrations of thermally stressed orthotropic plates in the prebuckled region is presented. The investigation covers the broad class of trapezoidal plates with two opposite sides parallel. Each edge of the plate may be subjected to different uniform boundary conditions. variable thickness and arbitrary temperature distributions (analytical or experimental) for any desired combination of boundary conditions may be prescribed. Results obtained using this analysis are compared to experimental results obtained for isotropic plates with thermal stress, and to results contained in the literature for orthotropic plates without thermal stress. Good agreement exists for both sets of comparisons.
