TLDR
In this article, a 10-step approach for interpreting IR spectra is presented. But the authors do not discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using IR spectroscopy in computer vision applications.

Interpretation of Infrared Spectra, A Practical Approach

John Coates
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a first-pass interpretation of the infrared spectrum of a molecule, based on structural features of the molecule, whether they are the backbone of the molecules or the functional groups attached to the molecule.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interaction of Fatty Acid Monolayers with Cobalt Nanoparticles

TL;DR: In this paper, a stable colloidal suspension of magnetic nanoparticles is challenging owing to both van der Waals forces and magnetic dipolar interactions, which is why it is essential to coat magnetic particles with magnetic coatings.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural study of sol–gel silicate glasses by IR and Raman spectroscopies

TL;DR: In this article, a study of the structure and bonding configuration of sol-gel silicate glasses by Raman and infrared spectroscopies is presented, and a review of the Raman lines and infrared bands assignment, the identification of the non-bridging silicon-oxygen groups and the ring structures are also demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI

IR spectroscopy in catalysis

TL;DR: In this paper, a review of the most popular IR spectroscopy applications for catalytic applications is presented, starting from the very general basis of the spectroscopic method applied and focusing on the adsorption of chelating compounds on surfaces of mineral oxides.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of selective ion-exchange resin for fluoride sorption.

TL;DR: The results showed that chelating resin is more selective than an anion-exchange resin for fluoride removal, and the sorption process was found to be controlled by pseudo-second-order and particle diffusion models.
