In this paper, the formation of intermacromolecular amide bonds in a polyelectrolyte salt complex of polyacrylic acid and linear polyethylene imine on heating in dilute solution was studied.
Abstract
IR spectroscopy was used to study the formation of intermacromolecular amide bonds in a polyelectrolyte salt complex of polyacrylic acid and linear polyethylene imine on heating in dilute solution. It was shown that in contrast with low molecular weight systems, the reaction of intermacromolecular condensation in dilute aqueous solutions takes place to high degrees of transformation to form water-soluble products.

Crosslinked hemicellulose citrate–chitosan aerogel foams

TL;DR: In this paper, the incorporation of carboxylic acid groups into hemicellulose via reaction with citric acid followed by cross linking with chitosan greatly improved the properties relative to hemicella, chitosa, a cellulose sponge product, and hemicelloose citrate alone.

Features of the phase transitions in aqueous salt solutions of non-stoichiometric polyelectrolyte complexes☆

Structure and properties of crosslinked hydrogels based on the polyelectrolyte complex polyacrylic acid-polyethyleneimine

TL;DR: In this paper, it is shown that by varying the nature and the ratio of the stabilizing gel-ionic, covalent and hydrogen bonds one may within wide limits change the properties of the hydrogels of the polyelectrolyte complex, their stability in different media, swelling capacity and permeability in relation to water and dissolved substances.

Transformation of the structure and properties of the complex of polyacrylic acid and linear polyethyleneimide on intracomplex amidation in aqueous solutions

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that the formation of interunit amide bonds in aqueous solutions of a polyelectrolyte complex to the point of deep conversions proceeds in intracomplex form and does not lead to the crosslinking of its particles between themselves.

Design, Structure, and Behavior of Interpolymer Complex Membranes

TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered polyelectrolyte complex (PEC) formation reactions between oppositely charged linear polyelectronylytes have been considered in detail and showed that a thin interfacial film of PEC about 20 nm thick is rapidly formed at higher polyethylene concentrations (above 0.6 wt.%, or about 0.03 N).

Studies on polycondensation reactions of nylon salt. II.. The rate of polycondensation reaction of nylon 66 salt in the presence of water

TL;DR: The polycondensation reaction of nylon-66-salz has been studied in the presence of water in 0.5-10.0 molar ratio as discussed by the authors. But the reaction proceeds extremely fast and reaches equilibrium after about 5 hours at 200-220°C.

Structure and properties of polyelectrolyte complexes—products of incomplete reactions between poly-N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate and polyphosphates and polyacrylates

TL;DR: In this article, a model was proposed for the polycomplex particle, which incorporates two-fibre hydrophobic units-sequences of pairs of units of complementary macromolecules forming salt bonds with each other.
