Abstract: Building on the previous rather theoretical-categorical discussion, the next three chapters will cover the resulting consequences for the management of companies and organisations in general. Understanding the nature of the firm as a relation of stakeholder resources and interests is a consistent expression of a relational understanding of economic processes. All stakeholders of a company invest resources in these organisations and naturally expect a return on their investment. A distinction is made between factor income and cooperation rents, a distinction that is essential for understanding network economies.

Abstract: The article is devoted to the application of skills gained by students in Mathematics for Business and Economics to solve problems of the game theory. An application of the entry game analysis is considered. A real-life problem is described which consists of the application of the zero-sum game to an auction situation, followed by finding the optimal solution with respective recommendations.

Abstract: Perhaps the most controversial issue surrounding the casino legalization debate is the “social costs” that accompany gambling. The casino industry maintains that its product is simply a form of entertainment like going to movies and football games, and consumers are willing to pay a price for entertainment. But many researchers argue that gambling is fundamentally different from other forms of entertainment because gambling, unlike movies and football games, can lead to addiction. As noted in Chap. 10, the prevalence rate of disordered gambling has been estimated to be between 0.4 and 2.0 % of the general population.

Abstract: ion data for a subset of patients, we obtained information on the unmeasured factors in the CCW Medicare claims data that are theoretically related to depression diagnosing decision and outcomes. Depression severity is theorized to be modified by physical function, overall health, and contextual factors (measured in Aim 1). In the chart abstraction data, we captured patient overall health through measures of ACE-27, AMIion data, we captured patient overall health through measures of ACE-27, AMI severity score, and mental illnesses during the index AMI hospitalization. Patient physical function was assessed by ADLs.
