In this article, the effect of the dielectric permittivity and other antenna parameters on the impedance and radiation characteristics of higher order resonant mode (HEM12δ) has been investigated in regards to using it for practical purposes.
Abstract
The higher order resonant mode (HEM12δ), in a cylindrical dielectric resonator antenna (CDRA) has been investigated in regards to using it for practical purposes. In this paper, we have addressed the effect of the dielectric permittivity and other antenna parameters on the impedance and radiation characteristics. The HEM12δ mode is excited using a non resonating microstrip patch.

Computed Modal Field Distributions of Isolated Dielectric Resonators

TL;DR: In this paper, the electric and magnetic fields inside and outside of an isolated dielectric resonator were evaluated using a surface integral equation model. And the resulting field plots permit a positive mode identification, and are useful in designing devices to enhance coupling of or to suppress various modes.
