Investigation on Influence Factors of Epoxy Asphalt and Its Mixture Properties

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of epoxy resin contents, compatible and curing condition on epoxy asphalt and its mixture properties were investigated, and the results indicate that the tensile strength and softening point of polypropylene-based asphalt and the Mashall stability, indirect tensilestrength of the asphalt mixture increase with the contents of polyethylene resins increasing.
Abstract: Effects of epoxy resin contents, compatible and curing condition on epoxy asphalt and its mixture properties were investigated. The results indicate that the tensile strength and softening point of epoxy asphalt and the Mashall stability, indirect tensile strength of epoxy asphalt mixture increase with the contents of epoxy resin increasing.Compared to epoxy asphalt without compatilizer, epoxy asphalt with shows better uniform dispersion, continuous phase and small colloidal particles of epoxy resin. And epoxy asphalt mixture with shows favorable pavement performance. The curing condition results indicate that the equivalent properties is showed when epoxy asphalt and its mixture is cured between 120 ℃,4 h and outdoor temperature,90 d.
