IoT System for Internet Connection Monitoring with Automatic Modem Reset

Abstract: This article aims to show a solution for people and companys who constantly face issues with internet signal loss. Therefore, taking this approching of internet connection failure as the case study and utilizing the NodeMCU, relay, libraries ESP8266Ping.h and Gsender.h, it was made a prototype so that the modem automatically stores the drop-down and the return time of connection. Thus with the fall and return times, these informations will be sent to an email to be used as control information.

Abstract: O estudo trata-se de monografia que discorre sobre a implementacao de um sistema de dosagem utilizando Internet das Coisas (IoT – Internet of Things / Internet das Coisas), visando o controle e o monitoramento das funcionalidades atraves de protocolos web. O sistema conta com a leitura do peso e acionamento de motores para controle da dosagem, variando de acordo com os parâmetros passados atraves de um aplicativo web. A leitura do peso e possivel atraves de sensores de captacao de peso, que por sua vez captam a variacao da resistencia eletrica e transformam em sinais que sao recebidos pelo amplificador operacional. Este sinal e amplificado para que possa ser lido pelo micro controlador, que calcula a quantidade de produto a ser aplicado de acordo com os parâmetros armazenados no sistema. Em paralelo a isso, o microcontrolador aciona os motores para que seja aplicada a quantidade de produto desejada. O aplicativo contem as informacoes basicas, como quantidade de produto desejada e a capacidade do sensor, pois dependendo da densidade do material a ser dosado podem ocorrer problemas. Esse sistema pode ser aplicado em varios setores da industria, uso pessoal, farmacia, entre outros segmentos que necessitem de dosagens precisas de produtos ou materiais.

Abstract: Este artigo descreve o desenvolvimento de um sistema de automacao residencial sensivel ao contexto. Nosso sistema monitora os ambientes de uma residencia, configurando os dispositivos de um determinado comodo. Alem disso, nossa aplicacao move o contexto computacional de um ambiente para outro, considerando o posicionamento e a mobilidade do usuario dentro da residencia. Deste modo, nossa solucao adapta contextos computacionais de acordo com as preferencias dos usuarios. Nossa solucao permite ao usuario o controle total da residencia, atraves de interfaces de comunicacao local e remota. Por fim, elaboramos um prototipo baseado em hardware com dimensoes reduzidas, permitindo que o sistema execute de modo pervasivo no ambiente.

Abstract: Clean energy technologies, especially photovoltaic, have recently become more and more popular and important due to their substantial benefits for environment, economy, and energy security. How to improve the management and usage efficiency of photovoltaic power stations is a challenging problem that needs to be investigated deeply. In this paper, Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are utilized to efficiently deliver the monitoring data of the photovoltaic (PV) modules from power stations to the monitoring center located in Cloud datacenter. With the aim of detecting the problems of PV modules from the monitoring big data, a two-class data fusion method is firstly developed to integrate the monitoring data at sensor nodes of WSNs; then an innovative semi-supervised Support vector machine (SVM) classifier is designed and trained by existing solar irradiance big data at the monitor center. With the prediction model provided by the trained classifier, an outlier detection algorithm is devised to classify and locate the problems of PV modules through calculating the average value of the questionable data. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed methods, a comprehensive experimental platform is set up. The experimental results show that the predicted values match well with the theoretical value of power generation.

Abstract: This paper presents a design and development of a Grid-Connected Photo Voltaic Virtual Instrumentation System (GCPV-VIS) which is intended to facilitate monitoring and failure detection of a grid-connected photovoltaic plant using statistical methods. The approach has been validated using an experimental database of environment and electrical parameters from a 1.98 kip plant installed at the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom. There are few instances of statistical tools being deployed in the analysis of PV measured data. The main focus of this research is, therefore, to devise a Virtual Instrument capable of simulating theoretical performances of PV systems and deploying statistical analysis of PV real-time data. The fault detection is based on the comparison between measured and theoretical output power using t-test statistical analysis. The obtained results indicate that the proposed method can detect the faults of the grid-connected PV system, and can be used for continuous monitoring of PV system status.

Abstract: A real-time energy monitoring system for grid-tied Photovoltaic (PV) installations was developed and deployed in a household located at Barangka, Marikina. The system consists of a BeagleBone Black which serves as the device to processes the measured data from the two power analyzers and the DC sensor. It also features a Mobile and Web-based monitor and analytics platform for end user utilization, and provides a forecasting algorithm for the user's projected monthly bill. One of the receiving ends is a server that stores the data and hosts the web application which aggregates, analyzes and presents the general power generation and grid consumption to the user. The other receiving end, an Android application, displays the real-time graph of the generated solar energy and the total energy consumed by the load, in this case, a residential load.

Abstract: As possibilidades de comunicacao e automacao proporcionadas pela Internet tem evoluido bastante, juntamente com o avanco de suas tecnologias de acesso. Dessa forma, torna-se possivel a criacao de ferramentas para melhorar e facilitar a vida em ambientes domesticos, por meio da informatizacao e automacao de diversos processos. Com isso, o objetivo desta pesquisa e propor um sistema capaz de automatizar o acionamento de equipamentos domesticos por meio da Internet, em uma plataforma de hardware livre. A interface grafica foi desenvolvida em HTML e, por se tratar de uma linguagem de marcacao universal, podera ser utilizada nos mais diversos tipos de dispositivos.
