TL;DR: In this article, a qualitative-phenomenological approach was employed to identify and understand more deeply the self-regulated learning of students with a high GPA, who had multiple roles (as housewives and workers also).
Abstract: This study aimed at identifying and understanding more deeply the self-regulated learning of students with a high GPA, who had multiple roles (as housewives and workers also). The approach employed in this study was the qualitative-phenomenological approach. The subjects of the study were selected by purposive sampling technique and the data were collected using techniques of observations and in-depth interviews. The results indicated that the four subjects conducted self-regulation in learning through regulating cognition, motivation, behavior, and emotion. Moreover, the subjects performed context regulation in order to achieve certain learning objectives. Self-regulated learning performed by the subjects was influenced by specific precipitating situations and the characteristics of each related individual. It was also strengthened by social support given to them.

TL;DR: Feminism as mentioned in this paper is the recognition that the world they have described is not the whole world, and it is the creation of masculine subjectivity; they are neither objective, nor value-free, nor inclusively human.
Abstract: There is a natural temptation to escape if we can, to close the door behind us on this despised realm which threatens to engulf all women, whether as mothers, or in marriage, or as the invisible, ill-paid sustainers of the professionals and social institutions. There is a natural fear that if we do not enter the common world of men, as asexual beings or as \"exceptional\" women, do not enter it on its terms and obey its rules, we will be sucked back into the realm of servitude, whatever our temporary class status or privileges. This temptation and this fear compromise our powers, [and] divert our energies .... [F]eminism means finally that we renounce our obedience to the fathers and recognize that the world they have described is not the whole world. Masculine ideologies are the creation of masculine subjectivity; they are neither objective, nor value-free, nor inclusively \"human.\" Feminism implies that we recognize fully the inadequacy for us, the distortion, of male-created ideologies, and that we proceed to think, and act, out of that recognition.'

TL;DR: Laski's appeal rests on subtle aspects of his science of politics that require a detailed examination before their full significance can be understood as mentioned in this paper, and it is worth noting that the political critique of liberal democracy remains as influential after the collapse of the Soviet Union as it was when Laski wrote.
Abstract: This timeless classic by Harold J. Laski explains the nature of the modern state by examining its characteristics, as revealed by its history. "The State in Theory and Practice" is a work that grows in significance, rather than dwindles over time. This is because, as Sidney A. Pearson, Jr. points out, Laski helped develop and expound the foundational arguments of the political left. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, even on the hard left, few people thought of Marxism, at least in its classical formulation by Laski in the 1930s, as a political alternative. Much of the interest in Laski seeks to separate the early Laski of pluralist parliamentary arguments from the later Laski of Marxism. Laski's appeal rests on subtle aspects of his science of politics that require a detailed examination before their full significance can be understood. The state is a work that operates at several layers of assumptions and implications. The significance of Laski starts with the observation that among many intellectuals on the left, the political critique of liberal democracy remains as influential after the collapse of the Soviet Union as it was when Laski wrote. The leftist critique of classical liberalism is one of the touchstones of modern political thought and Laski remains part of that tradition. Laski is one of the links between what might be called the "old left" of the pre-World War II era and the "new left" of the 1960's and later.

TL;DR: In the 20th National Conference on Women and the Law (NCWLL), a workshop focused on the following two questions: (1) to what extent is feminist theoretical scholarship in the field of law actually grounded in the experience of women (i.e., based on feminist method); and (2) to the extent that the theory is grounded in women's experience, does it reflect the diversity of women's experiences.
Abstract: This essay originates from my participation in a workshop of the same title at the 20th National Conference on Women and the Law, held in Oakland, California in the Spring of 1989. The workshop focused on the following two questions: (1) to what extent is feminist theoretical scholarship in the field of law actually grounded in the experience of women (i.e., based on feminist method); and (2) to the extent that the theory is grounded in women's experience, does it reflect the diversity of women's experience? Because I had recently been struggling with both of these issues, I readily accepted the invitation to participate. At the time, I hoped that my preparation for the workshop would help clarify my own thinking about the connections between feminist method and theory. My particular concern was that feminist legal theorists often ignore, or at best marginalize, lesbian experience. I call this the problem of the invisible lesbian. It is a problem that has serious consequences for the building of feminist legal theory. What makes any theory particularly feminist is that it is derived from female experience, from a point of view contrary to the dominant male perception of reality. If feminist legal theory is derived from a feminist method uninformed by critical lesbian experience, the theory will be incomplete. Lesbian experience is essential to the formation of feminist
