TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examine the way in which knowledge management helps to solve educational problems in the current global economy and propose a method to identify relevant areas of change in high education institutions (HEI).
Abstract: This article aims to examine the way in which knowledge management helps to solve educational problems in the current global economy. The method employed was structured from an epistemological-documental analysis of successful educative models and the identification of relevant areas of change in high education institutions (HEI). As a result, it can be said that better codifications, curricula, and educational structures can be obtained thanks to knowledge management. In brief, through adequate knowledge management, faculties and departments at HEI have ample opportunities for development in interdisciplinary research projects. Besides, knowledge management helps to reduce costs, have new services for the students, and achieve teaching styles, as well as implement consultancies and personalized learning.

TL;DR: In this paper, an analisis bibliometrico de conocimiento y tecnologia en universidades is presented, with the goal of identifying cambios in the topics of conocimento and tecnology.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose an Intelligent Adaptive Learning System (ILS) for personalized training, which aims to generate in real time for each learner the learning path most likely to enable them to achieve their objectives.
Abstract: Thanks to technological advances, research on adaptive hypermedia and the rise of big data, personalized training is shifting into second gear with smart and adaptive learning. This new avenue aims to generate in real time for each learner the learning path most likely to enable them to achieve their objectives. Intelligent adaptive learning system provides information that, when used wisely, can help the university identify which knowledge and skills it would benefit from developing students. Allows to assess the impact of training investments. Once again, thanks to the data it collects on the learning path, this system makes it possible to know whether the efforts invested in training are yielding as desired or whether it is necessary to adjust the course. It Builds a culture of development, since this training system is at the cutting edge of technology, it allows you to acquire new tools without wasting time.

TL;DR: In this paper , the role and impact of knowledge management in the decision-making and formulation of strategies of leading universities in developing countries has been studied, and it confirms that knowledge management and knowledge economy add value and competitiveness to institutions.
Abstract: The role of knowledge management (KM) as a strategic intervention in higher education (HE) in developing countries has not been widely studied. HE plays a central role in national economies by generating knowledge and disseminating it to stakeholders. This chapter describes the role and impact of KM in the decision-making and formulation of strategies of leading universities. It confirms that KM and knowledge economy (KE) add value and competitiveness to institutions. KM practices are needed in the field of academic research. In addition to a university's functions, they support regeneration and participate in international relations and strengthen social cohesion. HEIs are crucial in inspiring economic and social policies. Universities, in general, have conducted critical studies of the current links between KC, KE, and HE, including empirical analyses of its functions. Educational programmes have succeeded in adhering to the continuous innovation and autonomy of HEIs.

TL;DR: The definitive primer on knowledge management, this book will establish the enduring vocabulary and concepts and serve as the hands-on resource of choice for fast companies that recognize knowledge as the only sustainable source of competitive advantage.
Abstract: From the Publisher: The definitive primer on knowledge management, this book will establish the enduring vocabulary and concepts and serve as the hands-on resource of choice for fast companies that recognize knowledge as the only sustainable source of competitive advantage. Drawing on their work with more than 30 knowledge-rich firms, the authors-experienced consultants with a track record of success-examine how all types of companies can effectively understand, analyze, measure, and manage their intellectual assets, turning corporate knowledge into market value. They consider such questions as: What key cultural and behavioral issues must managers address to use knowledge effectively?; What are the best ways to incorporate technology into knowledge work?; What does a successful knowledge project look like-and how do you know when it has succeeded? In the end, say the authors, the human qualities of knowledge-experience, intuition, and beliefs-are the most valuable and the most difficult to manage. Applying the insights of Working Knowledge is every manager's first step on that rewarding road to long-term success. A Library Journal Best Business Book of the Year. "For an entire company...to have knowledge, that information must be coordinated and made accessible. Thomas H. Davenport...and Laurence Prusak... offer an elegantly simple overview of the 'knowledge market' aimed at fulfilling that goal.... Working Knowledge provides practical advice about implementing a knowledge-management system....A solid dose of common sense for any company looking to acquire -- or maintain -- a competitive edge."--Upside, June 1998

TL;DR: The objective of KMS is to support creation, transfer, and application of knowledge in organizations by promoting a class of information systems, referred to as knowledge management systems.
Abstract: Knowledge is a broad and abstract notion that has defined epistemological debate in western philosophy since the classical Greek era. In the past few years, however, there has been a growing interest in treating knowledge as a significant organizational resource. Consistent with the interest in organizational knowledge and knowledge management (KM), IS researchers have begun promoting a class of information systems, referred to as knowledge management systems (KMS). The objective of KMS is to support creation, transfer, and application of knowledge in organizations. Knowledge and knowledge management are complex and multi-faceted concepts. Thus, effective development and implementation of KMS requires a foundation in several rich literatures.
