Intermittency of wind wave group breaking

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of experiments on wind wave breaking were investigated based on the probability distribution of time interval between breaking events, and the results of Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests on time series of these intervals indicate that they all follow gamma distribution, and some are even exponential type.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structural reliability analysis with temporal and spatial variations based on polynomial chaos expansion

TL;DR: A polynomial chaos expansion (PCE) based method to evaluate the reliability problem with temporal and spatial variations is presented and the reliability analysis can be achieved by Monte Carlo simulation (MCS).

Random flows generated by random processes (properties of random flows, level-crossing problems)

Yu. K. Belyaev
- 01 Sep 1970 -
TL;DR: Author's summary of a dissertation submitted for the degree of Doctor of Physicomathematical Sciences, defended February 10, 1970, at a meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Applied Mathematics, Academy of Sciences of the USSR.

The mathematical representation for the variation of levels with small occurrence rate in radio noise

TL;DR: The mathematical representation of the variation of higher levels (the small occurrence rate part) of the radio noise is described, important for the estimation of the EM environments.
