Measurement of pressure is an important activity in the laboratory and industry since it is one of the most important variables that affects most processes. Many other properties of systems are affected by the operating pressure. For example, in an IC engine cylinder, the pressure varies continuously with time and determines the power output of the engine. Chemical reactions are affected by the operating pressure. In thermal power plants, the operating pressure of the boiler, for example, needs to be closely monitored during operation.read more
