TLDR
In this paper, the authors presented a new methodology to measure the crack resistance curves associated with fiberdominated failure modes in polymer-matrix composites, which is based on the identification of the crack tip location using Digital Image Correlation and the calculation of the J-integral directly from the test data using a simple expression derived for cross-ply composite laminates.

Modelling the nonlinear behaviour and fracture process of AS4/PEKK thermoplastic composite under shear loading

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the essential work of fracture approach to measure the shear fracture toughness of continuous fiber reinforced composite laminates, which is used to accurately predict the constitutive response in terms of permanent plastic strain, degraded modulus as well as load reversal.

Measurement of the compressive crack resistance curve of composites using the size effect law

TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented a new methodology to measure the compressive crack resistance curve of the longitudinal plies of carbon-epoxy laminates, which is based on three main steps: the first one corresponds to the determination of the energy release rate of cross-ply Laminates with two edge cracks using a parametric finite element model.
