TLDR
In this paper, the authors presented a new methodology to measure the crack resistance curves associated with fiberdominated failure modes in polymer-matrix composites, which is based on the identification of the crack tip location using Digital Image Correlation and the calculation of the J-integral directly from the test data using a simple expression derived for cross-ply composite laminates.

Characterization of the translaminar fracture Cohesive Law

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed an objective inverse method for obtaining the Cohesive Law with the use of an analytic model capable of predicting the load-displacement curve of a Compact Tension specimen for any arbitrary Cohesive law shape.

Measuring displacement fields by cross-correlation and a differential technique: experimental validation

TL;DR: A digital image correlation algorithm for displacement measurements combining cross-correlation and a differential technique was validated through a set of experimental tests, which gave a more reliable estimation of both crack length and crack opening displacement of the fractured spe- cimen.

Influence of aramid fibers on the mechanical behavior of a hybrid carbon–aramid–reinforced epoxy composite:

TL;DR: In this paper, the contribution of aramid fibers in a hybrid carbon-aramid fiber twill weave used to reinforce epoxy resin was investigated, and the authors evaluated the influence of these fibers on the performance of the twill yarn.
