TL;DR: A maxillary skeletal expander is composed of a pair of dental arch expansion bodies positioned to face each other in an oral cavity; an expanding screw provided between the pair of DAs to move the DAs without deviation; a DAs expansion body combining means having a fixing piece for penetrating a fixing hole at a selected part in the oral cavity as discussed by the authors.
Abstract: A maxillary skeletal expander is proposed. The maxillary skeletal expander is composed of a pair of dental arch expansion bodies positioned to face each other in an oral cavity; an expanding screw provided between the pair of dental arch expansion bodies to move the dental arch expansion bodies; a guide provided between the pair of dental arch expansion bodies to safely move the dental arch expansion bodies without deviation; a dental arch expansion body combining means having a fixing piece for penetrating a fixing hole at a selected part in the oral cavity, and configured to be combined to and separated from each of the dental arch expansion bodies.

TL;DR: In this paper, a bone mounting bracket capable of being fixed to maxilla by a screw and a palate expanding device including the bracket and a base unit supported by the bracket was presented.
Abstract: Disclosed are a bone mounting bracket capable of being fixed to maxilla by a screw and a palate expanding device including the bracket and a base unit supported by the bracket. The base unit includes a base body extendable to left and right sides and legs formed in the base body and transmitting a maxilla expanding force generated by the base body to the bracket. The bracket includes a leg mount with a leg assembling groove fixated to the maxilla by the screw and enabling the legs to be mounted. According to the present invention, the base unit is installed after the bone mounting bracket is mounted in a jawbone, and thus the palate expanding device is capable of being rapidly and easily installed. Accordingly, pains and burdens to a patient can be minimized. In addition, the bracket and the screw can be stably coupled regardless of directions of the legs being connected, and thus the stability of a maxilla expanding procedure, that is, the maxilla expanding procedure, can be secured, and the expanding force can be stably applied to a lateral side (slope) of the maxilla.

TL;DR: In this article, a maxillary expansion device having a triple screw system for rapid palatal expansion is presented. But the system is laterally asymmetric and the size of the expansion screw required to obtain a desired amount of expansion can be hardly positioned.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a maxillary expansion device having a triple screw system for rapid palatal expansion. In the case of narrow and constricted maxillary arches requiring rapid palatal expansion, an expansion screw that is large enough to obtain a desired amount of expansion can be hardly positioned and new device preparation and repetition of procedures are required for additional expansion. The present invention is to deal with an increase in cost and hassles attributable to those requirements and allow adjustment of the amount of palatal expansion that is laterally asymmetrical. The present invention includes: a pair of left main bodies; a pair of right main bodies; a first expansion screw having both side portions inserted to penetrate the left main bodies and the right main bodies and adjusting a gap between the left main bodies and the right main bodies; a second expansion screw having both side portions inserted to penetrate the left main bodies and adjusting a gap between the left main bodies; and a third expansion screw having both side portions inserted to penetrate the right main bodies and adjusting a gap between the right main bodies.

TL;DR: In this paper, a maxillary skeletal expander is fixed in an oral cavity to expand the maxillary bone to the left and right sides, which can be transferred to the human body.
Abstract: Disclosed is a maxillary skeletal expander fixed in an oral cavity to expand a maxillary bone to left and right sides. According to the present invention, the maxillary skeletal expander comprises: first and second bodies (10, 20); a gap adjustment member (30) connecting the first and second bodies to adjust a horizontal gap between the first and second bodies; and a coupler guide member (70) guiding the implantation position and direction of a coupler for fixing the first and second bodies to the maxillary bone. The first and second bodies have insertion holes (16, 18, 26, 28) on front and rear sides, respectively, to insert the coupler guide member thereinto wherein an interval between the insertion holes (16, 26) formed on the rear side of the first and second bodies can be different from an interval between the insertion holes (18, 28) formed on the front side of the first and second bodies. According to the present invention, expandability caused by the maxillary skeletal expander can be effectively transferred to the maxillary bone.

TL;DR: In this article, an upper apparatus for correcting the width of the maxillary dental arch was proposed, which included a width-correction body unit generating an orthodontic force to correct the width by pushing the palatal slopes of both sides of the upper jawbone.
Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for correcting the width of the maxillary dental arch, including: a width-correction body unit generating an orthodontic force for correcting the width of the maxillary dental arch; and a pushing unit disposed at the width-correction body unit, which applies an expansion force to an upper jawbone while being widened from side to side by the width-correction body unit such that the maxillary dental arch is expanded from side to side. The pushing unit pushes the palatal slopes of both sides of the upper jawbone, and expands the maxillary dental arch. According to the upper apparatus for correcting the width of the maxillary dental arch of the present invention, a burden on a tooth and damage to a dental root may be minimized, and a dental procedure may be made more convenient as the orthodontic force is applied directly to the upper jawbone.
