TLDR
In this article, the spread of crime in a population is very much dependent on the social structure of the society, and there are several factors which influence the dynamics of the dynamics.
Abstract
Crime is a social epidemic. The spread of crime in a population is very much dependent on the social structure of the society. Although there are several factors which influence the dynamics of the...

Dynamics of crime transmission using fractional-order differential equations

- 10 Jan 2022 -
TL;DR: In this article , the authors proposed a fractional-order crime transmission model by categorizing the existing population into four clusters: law-abiding citizens, criminally active individuals who have not been imprisoned, prisoners, and prisoners who completed the prison tenure.

Dynamical analysis and effects of law enforcement in a social interaction model

TL;DR: In this paper, a series of dynamical model systems of the dilation of crime incorporating law enforcement were formulated and analyzed, and the expressions obtained for the existence and stability of equilibrium points have been used to investigate the effects of coefficient of law enforcement and the logistic growth term on the prevalence of crime.

Crime and punishment: the economic burden of impunity

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigate the level of law enforcement required to keep crime within acceptable limits and show that a sharp phase transition is observed as a function of the probability of punishment, and analyze the growth of the economy, the inequality in the wealth distribution (the Gini coefficient) and other relevant quantities under different scenarios of criminal activity and probability of apprehension.

Modeling social media addiction with case detection and treatment

TL;DR: In this article , a nonlinear mathematical model for social media addiction problem using case detection strategy to reduce the addiction was proposed and analyzed, which revealed that detection and counseling parameters play a vital role in reducing addiction population.

Crime and Punishment: An Economic Approach

TL;DR: In fact, some common properties are shared by practically all legislation, and these properties form the subject matter of this essay as discussed by the authors, which is the basis for this essay. But, in spite of such diversity, some commonsense properties are not shared.

The Effect of Prison Population Size on Crime Rates: Evidence From Prison Overcrowding Litigation

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the status of prison overcrowding litigation in a state as an instrument for changes in the prison population to measure the elasticity of crime with respect to the number of prisoners.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Effect of Prison Population Size on Crime Rates: Evidence from Prison Overcrowding Litigation

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used prison overcrowding litigation in a state as an instrument for changes in the prison population and found that the social benefits associated with crime reduction equal or exceed the social costs of incarceration for the marginal prisoner.

Stability analysis of nonlinear systems

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigate stability theory in terms of two different measures, treat the theory of a variety of inequalities, and demonstrate manifestations of the general Lyapunov method.

A statistical model of criminal behavior

TL;DR: This work focuses on a two-dimensional lattice model for residential burglary, where each site is characterized by a dynamic attractiveness variable, and where each criminal is represented as a random walker.
