TLDR
In this paper, a model based on penetration theory has been developed to calculate the dynamic absorption rate of sulfur dioxide into a droplet of limestone slurry, which includes both instantaneous equilibrium reactions and reactions with finite rates; limestone dissolution, sulfite oxidation, gypsum crystallization and the hydrolysis reaction of CO2.

Status of Flue Gas Desulphurisation (FGD) systems from coal-fired power plants: Overview of the physic-chemical control processes of wet limestone FGDs

TL;DR: In this paper, a general review of the FGD technologies used to abate sulphur emissions from coal-fired power plants, and exposes the major physic-chemical processes occurring during wet limestone FGD is presented.

Experimental investigation and modeling of a wet flue gas desulfurization pilot plant

TL;DR: A detailed model for a wet flue gas desulfurization (FGD) pilot plant, based on the packed tower concept, has been developed in this article, where all important rate-determining steps, absorption of SO2, oxidation of H...

Prediction of SO2 removal efficiency for wet Flue Gas Desulfurization

TL;DR: In this article, the SO 2 was removed by absorbing and reacting SO 2 with limestone slurry, and limestone scrubbing was accomplished in a spraying reactor Experimental investigations for effects of different operating variables on the SO2 removal showed the reasonable process parameters such as the pH value of the liquid phase, droplet size of the spray and the flow rates of liquid and gas.

Absorption of SO2 from flue gas using PVDF hollow fiber membranes in a gas–liquid contactor

TL;DR: In this article, micro-porous hydrophobic PVDF hollow fiber membranes were prepared from polyvinylidenefluoride and N -methyl-2-pyrrolidone by the dry-jet wet phase inversion process.

A model for performance optimization of wet flue gas desulfurization systems of power plants

TL;DR: Wang et al. as discussed by the authors developed a model of limestone/gypsum wet flue gas desulfurization (WFGD) system based on unsteady theory, and the models of processes of absorption section and oxidation section were developed and incorporated into the WFGD integral model.
