In this paper, a series connected custom power device called transformer less dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is used to protect sensitive loads in the load side by mitigating power quality problems present in the source side or at the point of common coupling (PCC).
Abstract
This paper presents a series connected custom power device (CPD) called transformer less dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) is used to protect sensitive loads in the load side by mitigating power quality problems present in the source side or at the point of common coupling (PCC). Series connected three single phase voltage source inverter (VSI) with filter design makes transformer less DVR to achieve desired load voltage magnitude with smooth sinusoidal waveform. Hysteresis controller is used for generating pulses for the VSI present in the Transformer less DVR and the error signal is generated by using combined Clark’s and Park’s transformation technique. The performance analysis of the transformer less DVR is verified using the MATLAB/SIMULINK software.

Introducing custom power

TL;DR: The concept of custom power is now becoming familiar as mentioned in this paper and it describes the value-added power that electric utilities and other service providers will offer their customers in the future The improved level of reliability of this power, in terms of reduced interruptions and less variation, will stem from an integrated solution to present problems, of which a prominent feature will be the application of power electronic controllers to utility distribution systems and/or at the supply end of many industrial and commercial customers and industrial parks.
