The contribution of internode and mesocotyl tissues to root‐to‐shoot signalling of abscisic acid
Angela Sauter,Wolfram Hartung +1 more
TL;DR: The ABA efflux from the stem and mesocotyl parenchyma into the xylem could be increased when the tissues were treated with tetcyclacis, an inhibitor of ABA degradation, but also by changing the pH from its normal value of about pH 5.8 to pH 7.0 and by adding 100 mM NaCl to the perfusion medium.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hemmung der Phytol-Akkumulation mit Herbiziden. Geranylgeraniol-und Dihydrogeranylgeraniol-haltiges Chlorophyll aus Weizenkeimlingen
TL;DR: In this paper, the accumulation of carotenoids, phytol and chlorophyll in etiolated wheat seedlings during exposure to white light was determined after treatment with the herbicides amitrol'l, Sandoz 6706 and Sandoz 9789.
Journal ArticleDOI
Pristine Early Eocene Wood Buried Deeply in Kimberlite from Northern Canada
Alexander P. Wolfe,Adam Z. Csank,Alberto V. Reyes,Ryan C. McKellar,Ralf Tappert,Karlis Muehlenbachs +5 more
TL;DR: From cellulose δ18O and δ2H measurements, it is inferred that Early Eocene paleoclimates in the western Canadian subarctic were 12–17°C warmer and four times wetter than present.
Journal ArticleDOI
Salinity-induced decrease in NADPH oxidase activity in the maize leaf blade elongation zone.
TL;DR: Results indicate the *O(2)(-) -generating activity negatively affected by NaCl was compatible with that of plasma membrane NADPH oxidase, as indicated by an antibody against the C-terminal portion of the tomato gp91(phox) homolog.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ultrastructural aspects of storage lipid mobilization in the tapetum of Lilium hybrida var. enchantment.
S. A. Reznickova,H. G. Dickinson +1 more
TL;DR: Stages in the formation and degradation of pollenkitt in the anther of Lilium have been investigated using the electron microscope, finding a striking vacuolar system formed in the tapetal cytoplasm, presumably containing the products of this hydrolysis.

Optical Rotatory Dispersion. Its Application to Protein Conformation.
E. F. Woods,Donnell +1 more
TL;DR: Optical rotation has been found to be one of the most convenient methods of following the denaturation of proteins and rotatory dispersion is capable of providing information on the folding of the polypeptide chain in proteins and the changes accompanying denaturation.
