Journal ArticleDOI

Update on ureide degradation in legumes

TL;DR: A discussion of the potential roles for ureides and manganese in the feedback inhibition of N2-fixation under water limitation is presented and the existing data are examined in relation to potential changes in both aerial carbon and nitrogen supply under water deficit.
Journal ArticleDOI

The structure and replenishment of rocky shore intertidal communities and biogeographic comparisons

TL;DR: In this review, some of the themes and models relating to benthic–pelagic coupling models, which encompass oceanic processes such as upwelling and downwelling, the transport of larvae and their arrival back to shore to settle, are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Energy transfer between protochlorophyllide molecules: evidence for multiple chromophores in the photoactive protochlorophyllide-protein complex vivo and in vitro.

TL;DR: It is concluded that at 77 °K the main form of protochlorophyllide in the holochrome transfers a large proportion of its excitation energy to PChl-650, and the efficiency of transfer increases as the fraction of chlorophyllid a molecules increases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tapetal origin of pollen-coat substances in lilium

TL;DR: At maturity, the pollen of Lilium spp.

Allgemeine Charakterisierung eines Enzyms

W. Heinen

Optical Rotatory Dispersion. Its Application to Protein Conformation.

E. F. Woods, +1 more
TL;DR: Optical rotation has been found to be one of the most convenient methods of following the denaturation of proteins and rotatory dispersion is capable of providing information on the folding of the polypeptide chain in proteins and the changes accompanying denaturation.
