TL;DR: The third order optical susceptibilities of trans and cis-CHs have been determined in the spectral region below the gap by measuring the third harmonic generation efficiency as discussed by the authors, and the magnitude of χ(3) parallel to the polymer chains in trans-CH x is in excess of 10 −9 esu for wavelengths larger than 1.3 μm.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used 2-adamantylamino-5-nitropyridine (AANP) crystal for second-order nonlinear optical synthesis.
Abstract: Several organic materials with a bulky donor group have been developed for second‐order nonlinear optics. Among these materials, 2‐adamantylamino‐5‐nitropyridine (AANP) crystal has the largest second‐order nonlinear optical coefficient. By second‐harmonics measurement at 1.064 μm, coefficients of d31 and d33 were determined to be 80 and 60 pm/V, respectively. Angle‐tuned phase‐matched second‐harmonic generation with a conversion efficiency=2×10−3 W−1 has been demonstrated using a 1 mm AANP bulk crystal at 1.064 μm.

TL;DR: The organic metal α−[bis(ethylenedithio) tetrathiofulvalene]2I3 shows a large third-order optical nonlinearity around 650 nm, as observed by forward degenerate four-wave mixing as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The organic metal α‐[bis(ethylenedithio) tetrathiofulvalene]2I3 shows a large third‐order optical nonlinearity around 650 nm, as observed by forward degenerate four‐wave mixing. Nonlinear susceptibilities of ‖χ(3)‖ ∼5×10−8 esu are observed along the direction of maximum conductivity. The frequency dispersion of the nonlinearity points to a plasma effect due to the conduction electrons.

TL;DR: In this article, the nonlinear mechanisms for picosecond degenerate four-wave mixing in organic dyes are reviewed and a theoretical description is given and good agreement between theory and experiment is found in most cases.
