Nursing professional education: implications of education for transpersonal care

Abstract: This study identifies the perceptions of undergraduate nursing students concerning their education to provide transpersonal care. This qualitative study was conducted in four public universities in Bahia, Brazil with 16 seniors (non-probabilistic sampling) through semi-structured interviews, analyzed through the Collective Subject Discourse. The results expressed the students’ feelings in the face of the challenge to provide transpersonal care; the psycho-cognitive competencies required by inter-subjective praxis; their perceptions concerning the curriculum in relation to the psycho-emotional dimension of being, untying critical knots; strategies suggested. The final reflections indicate the need to implement changes in the professional education of nurses in order to recover the humanistic view while preserving the scientific view. Undergraduate courses should develop an interactive methodology capable of supporting a more humane, sensitive and inter-subjective care praxis.

Abstract: Despite the speech of the human being's integration, we have observed that the nurse professional formation emphasizes the technical dimension, leaving out the professional's internal growth. Searching for understanding that process, our goal is to identify and to analyze the perception and feelings of nursing teaching staff, related to their formation as a person and as a professional in the of Nursing scope. The reports that were submitted to the content analysis pointed out two categories: Holism only in theory and Scheme of the feelings, revealing a stage of many discoveries and little space for the student person. The results of the research offered important elements to think about it by the Schools, visualizing the student's formation as an integral and integrated person.

Abstract: OBJECTIVE: Describe the current situation of complementary therapies in nursing education in schools and nursing schools in Spain. METHOD: Descriptive study. Study population all faculties andschools ascribed to Spain. Data collection through observation sheet. Analysis units Curricula. Variables (credits, course type, location, type of therapy). Descriptive analysis of relative and absolute data using Excel spreadsheet. RESULTS: Most of the faculties and schoolsofnursingscrutinized the subject of Complementary Therapies has disappeared and those that aparace is an optional subject. CONCLUSION: Complementary Therapies training in Spain is deficient because it is not collected as a core subject and / or obligatory. The absence of Complementary Therapies in the curriculum, questions such as their value in training, conceptualization which teachers, the impact on quality of care, training of teachers responsible for teaching the subject, as well as the number of credits and the course being in the degree of Grado.

Abstract: Objectives: To compare care necessities as perceived by the patient and nursing team and to investigate the sociodemographic factors associated with these perceptions. Method: A comparative study was conducted in units and hospitalized patients of a hospital institution in the state of Sao Paulo. The participants comprised 100 health professionals (50 nurses and 50 nursing technicians and auxiliaries) and 50 patients. A questionnaire was constructed and validated regarding care needs and was completed by the participants. Results: Considering cut-off value kappa ≥ 0.61, or that is, good and very good intervals, the greatest agreement between the perception of the patients and the nursing team was in the areas of: Care and Communication, both with 92.6% agreement; followed by Basic Care with 74.1%. The lowest value was found in the field of Care Planning and Organization, 64.3%. Conclusion: In a general manner, there was an agreement between the care needs from the view of the patients themselves and the nursing team. Objetivos: Comparar como as necessidades de cuidados sao percebidas pelo paciente e equipe de enfermagem e investigar os fatores sociodemograficos associados a estas percepcoes. Metodo: Estudo comparativo realizado em unidades e internacao de uma instituicao hospitalar do interior do Estado de Sao Paulo. Os participantes foram 100 profissionais (50 enfermeiros e 50 tecnicos e auxiliares de enfermagem) e 50 pacientes. Construiu-se e validou-se um questionario sobre necessidades de cuidados preenchido pelos participantes. Resultados: Considerando-se valor de corte kappa ≥ 0,61, ou seja, intervalos bom e muito bom, houve maior alinhamento entre a percepcao dos pacientes e equipe de enfermagem nos dominios O Ambiente do Cuidado e Comunicacao, ambos com 92,6% de concordância; seguido de Cuidados Basicos, com 74,1%. O menor valor foi encontrado no dominio Planejamento e Organizacao do Cuidado, 64,3%. Conclusao: De maneira geral, observou-se alinhamento no atendimento das necessidades de cuidados no olhar do proprio paciente e da equipe de enfermagem.

Abstract: RESUMO Objetivo Compreender como a articulacao teorico-pratica se efetiva num curriculo de um curso de graduacao em Enfermagem. Metodo Trata-se de um estudo de caso unico, com abordagem qualitativa, desenvolvido por meio de analise documental e por entrevistas individuais com roteiro semiestruturado com dez docentes e 14 discentes entrevistados no periodo de fevereiro a maio de 2015. A analise dos dados foi realizada segundo os pressupostos da Analise Critica do Discurso. Resultados Os dados revelaram a existencia de tensoes e ambivalencias entre duas formas de relacao entre teoria e pratica. A primeira, relacionada a teoria-pratica como unidade indissoluvel e a segunda a visao da teoria e pratica como instâncias dicotomicas e predominio da teoria precedendo a pratica. Conclusoes e implicacoes para a pratica Ha fragilidades na efetivacao da articulacao teorico-pratica no curriculo do curso de Enfermagem investigado, evidenciando a supremacia do paradigma cartesiano no ensino superior de Enfermagem. Dessa forma, torna-se premente instituir estrategias que viabilizem a indissociabilidade teorico-pratica no curriculo.

Abstract: La ensenanza superior en salud ejerce un papel fundamental en la sociedad porque los egresados de los cursos ofrecidos en el area seran los futuros prestadores de asistencia a la poblacion. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar publicaciones en la literatura a respecto de la graduacion en el area de la salud, cuya metodologia fue una revision narrativa, con 51 materiales seleccionados en la base de datos de la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud (centrados en la graduacion, metodologias de ensenanza y relacion teoria-practica). Los resultados mostraron la importancia de aunar teoria y practica, y las divergencias con relacion a las metodologias de ensenanza, necesitando una mirada critica sobre estas, ademas de las fragilidades en la formacion pedagogica de docentes. Se concluye que el disenso con relacion a las metodologias de ensenanza y la preocupacion con la formacion de discentes y docentes muestra la necesidad de realizar debates a fin de socializar experiencias e ideas en este importante campo del conocimiento, que den respuestas a las necesidades sociales.

Abstract: Os sete saberes necessarios a educacao do futuro nao tem nenhum programa educativo, escolar ou universitario. Alias, nao estao concentrados no primario, nem no secundario, nem no ensino universitario, mas abordam problemas especificos para cada um desses niveis. Eles dizem respeito aos setes buracos negros da educacao, completamente ignorados, subestimados ou fragmentados nos programas educativos. Programas esses que, na minha opiniao, devem ser colocados no centro das preocupacoes sobre a formacao dos jovens, futuros cidadaos.

Abstract: As vertiginosas transformacoes das sociedades contemporâneas tem colocado em questao, de modo cada vez mais incisivo, os aspectos relativos a formacao profissional. Este debate ganha contornos proprios no trabalho em saude, na medida em que a indissociabilidade entre teoria e pratica, o desenvolvimento de uma visao integral do homem e a ampliacao da concepcao de cuidado tornam-se prementes para o adequado desempenho laboral. Com base nestas consideracoes, o objetivo do presente artigo e discutir as principais transformacoes metodologicas no processo de formacao dos profissionais de saude, com enfase na apreciacao das metodologias ativas de ensino-aprendizagem.

Abstract: O processo de revisao da Resolucao CNS 196/96 envolveu uma consulta publica no periodo de 12 de setembro a 10 de novembro de 2011 que resultou em 1.890 sugestoes por via eletronica e apresentacao de 18 documentos pelo Correio. Estas contribuicoes, devidamente tabuladas, foram submetidas a analise dos participantes do ENCEP extraordinario, que indicou o texto abaixo a ser submetido ao CNS apos revisao. O evento ainda evidenciou a necessidade de serem produzidas resolucoes especificas paras as areas de Ciencias Sociais e Humanas sem prejuizos a Resolucao CNS 196/96, bem como a tipificacao de riscos em pesquisas cientificas e diretrizes para acreditacao de CEPs, temas dos quais a CONEP devera se ocupar num horizonte proximo.
