Drivers of diversity and tree cover in gardens, parks and streetscapes in an Australian city
TL;DR: The authors explored predictors of both tree cover and species richness in Ballarat, Australia, and found that education level was a more important predictor of tree cover than household income across all land uses, which can be explained by some people with high incomes relative to education level choosing to live in new residential developments with disproportionately low levels of tree coverage.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the methodology of ISEW, GPI and related measures: some constructive suggestions and some doubt on the 'threshold' hypothesis
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors provide a critical, but constructive, discussion of the various methods used for the valuation of non-renewable resource depletion and long-term environmental damage, and for the weighting of consumption expenditures for income inequalities.

How has the Literature on Gini's Index Evolved in the Past 80 Years?
TL;DR: The Gini coefficient or index is perhaps one of the most used indicators of social and economic conditions as mentioned in this paper, and a large number of papers on the Gini index have been written and published.

Quantile treatment effects in the regression discontinuity design
TL;DR: In this article, a nonparametric estimator for local quantile treatment effects in the regression discontinuity (RD) design is introduced, which uses local distribution regression to estimate the marginal distributions of the potential outcomes.

TL;DR: JSTOR as discussed by the authors is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1995 to build trusted digital archives for scholarship, which is used to preserve their work and the materials they rely upon, and to build a common research platform that promotes the discovery and use of these resources.

The Efficiency Analysis of Choices Involving Risk
Giora Hanoch,Haim Levy +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, an analysis of the first step of the decision-making process of an individual decision maker among alternative risky ventures is presented, in terms of a single dimension such as money, both for the utility functions and for the probability distributions.
