On the method of obtaining indoor positioning information for realization advanced geospatial information society

AbstractTo obtain indoor positioning information by GPS satellite is difficult now. The Japanese Government executed a new law NSDI (National Spatial Data Infrastructure) for a spatial information society on May 30, 2007. In this law, everybody can know positional information in real time anytime and anywhere[5]. In addition, it is necessary to keep satellite positioning for realization of seamless positioning, and to promote ubiquitous network technology [1] [4]. However, the technology has not been established yet. Therefore, Integrated Circuit Tag (IC tag) was used where GPS signals could not be received to obtain information on the absolute position. The experiment was conducted to verify the reading rate of IC tag on different types and conditions. An experiment was conducted to show position information to obtain seamlessly GPS positioning and IC tag on the GIS.

Abstract: Government has to hurry up to build accessible facilities for elderly people and people who has disabilities. Because our country is experiencing an aging society, for example, pedestrian space should be safe and give a relief. One of the methods to ensure this society is to obtain absolute position with high accuracy. Therefore, we suggested here to make Universal Map (UM) with a large scale (1/500 or 1/1000) by using REAL TIME GIS. The purpose of the research was to confirm whether absolute positions can be obtained accurately in pedestrian space. The experiment was performed by moving in KIT campus by a wheelchair to which D-GPS and VRS-GPS antennas have been attached. As a result, it became clear that any experiment fields could not receive accurate data. To solve these problems, we adopted IC tags which are new ubiquitous technology. For a solution, it is recommended that the UM be made by the REAL TIME GIS and IC tags.

Abstract: Our country is experiencing an aging society, for example, pedestrian space should be safe and give a relief. One of the methods to ensure this society is to obtain absolute position with high accuracy. Therefore, we suggested here to make Universal Map (UM) with a large scale by using REAL TIME GIS with mobile mapping. The purpose of the research was to confirm whether absolute positions can be obtained accurately in mobile mapping. For the purpose, an experiment was performed on our campus at Kanazawa district in Japan by using a D-GPS and a VRS-GPS. As a result, it became clear that one could not receive accurate data in any experiment fields. To solve these problems, we adopted IC tags which are new ubiquitous technology. Therefore, it is recommended that the UM be made by the REAL TIME GIS and IC tags.

Abstract: Because Japan has become an aging society, for example, pedestrian space should have safety and relief for old people. Government and local government have to quickly build barrier-free facilities for elderly people and handicapped persons. However, it is difficult for everyone to know easily the route from their present place to destination with safety and relief. In this research, we will suggest producing a large scale Universal Map (UM) by using REAL TIME GIS, and we actually conducted the tentative experiment by using RTK-GPS and VRS-GPS. The purpose of the research was to confirm that we are able to get absolute position of high accuracy. As a result, it became clear that some experiment fields could not get accurate data. Our laboratory has been proposing to solve those problems by using a new technology of ubiquitous and geoinformatics. The proposed technology will powerfully contribute to the realization of UM.

Abstract: Much local government has been utilizing a large-scale digital map using GIS. However, the updating method of a map has not been established yet. The purpose of the study is to establish a method of updating the large-scale map for local government using Real-Time GIS. The Real-Time GIS is a technique for updating a digital map instantly using RTK-GPS and mobile phones. GPS is extremely precise and new geodetic system. However, most of the digital maps of local government are still old geodetic system. To match two kinds of data having different geodetic systems, it is necessary to transform coordinates. This study used TKY2JGD and Affine Transformation. As a result, parameters using TKY2JGD could not be applied to a large-scale map. Affine Transformation had only 3 cm errors. The paper suggested that Real Time GIS and Affine Transformation will help to revise the map of local government.
