Abstract: Competitiveness of domestic enterprises on the international market is practically non-existent. The majority of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face difficulties when it comes to obtaining and maintaining a competitive position on the market. Globalization and business within the domain of the fourth industrial revolution - Industry 4.0, bring challenges for SMEs. Without an adequate quality management system, without the application of ICT and the lack of modern manufacturing equipment, enterprises can't compete on the international market. In this paper managers of domestic enterprises and customers of various products are surveyed. The two separate surveys included the analysis of quality management, product quality, human resource management, marketing strategy, promotional activities, customer satisfaction, perceived quality and brand development. The goal was to define the relations between the measured factors in order to develop a model for improving business and competitiveness of domestic enterprises in Serbia. The model provides significant insight on how could enterprises enhance their businesses and achieve a competitive position on the international market. Additionally, this present paper provides a solid basis for future research in this domain.

Abstract: Fourth Industrial revolution, Industry 4.0- A rapidly growing world of digitization that opens the doorway for new era of automation plays a crucial role within the industry which requires a constant research and improvements to achieve and sustain themselves in current world of competitive market. Implementation of industry 4.0 technologies pioneer for a profit maximization with cost reduction and has even realized to show a significant refinement in improved sustainability. Global Market leading organisations are positioning themselves with world of digitisation to their end consumers utilising the digital marketing, e-commerce and customer experience virtually driving towards a completely new era of digital ecosystem. Supply chain management (SCM) within the small and medium enterprises (SME‘s) plays an important role in supporting the global manufacturing economies. SME's lacks the understanding and significance of transforming themselves with the extremely complex digital supply chain systems that may leads to losses if they don't embrace now for innovations and implement the latest technological advancements. This paper aims to examine the current trends and impacts of latest technologies within the SME's with the view of key factors of Industry 4.0.

Abstract: The industrial revolutions and their impact on production systems have increased productivity and quality in manufacturing over time. Lean methods have been the driver of the development of production systems from the 1990s to the rise of the fourth industrial revolution, or Industry 4.0. However, many different approaches and methodologies have been described, applied, and discussed for achieving improvements in production systems. As a result, organizations are often confused in regard to the order, the convenience, and the outcomes intended by the different improvement strategies and techniques. This paper provides a systematic sequence of process optimization steps that can be applied to any organization. A conceptual model was built based on the systematic sequence. In addition, a simulation model was built with the goal of representing and quantifying the sequential steps of the conceptual model. The results of the simulation model show a clear improvement in quality, performance, and economic indicators, with the first two steps in the optimization sequence providing critical initial information, while the three last steps served as net contributors to a global production system improvement for demanding market scenarios. Finally, we analyzed the impacts of Industry 4.0 on production systems and developed a methodological sequence to design, select, implement, and control projects, even those that include Industry 4.0 technologies.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to propose a framework to position sustainable entrepreneurship in relation to sustainability innovation. The framework builds on a typology of sustainable entrepreneurship, develops it by including social and institutional entrepreneurship, i.e. the application of the entrepreneurial approach towards meeting societal goals and towards changing market contexts, and relates it to sustainability innovation. The framework provides a reference for managers to introduce sustainability innovation and to pursue sustainable entrepreneurship. Methodologically, the paper develops an approach of qualitative measurement of sustainable entrepreneurship and how to assess the position of a company in a classification matrix. The degree of environmental or social responsibility orientation in the company is assessed on the basis of environmental and social goals and policies, the organization of environmental and social management in the company and the communication of environmental and social issues. The market impact of the company is measured on the basis of market share, sales growth and reactions of competitors. The paper finds conditions under which sustainable entrepreneurship and sustainability innovation emerge spontaneously. The research has implications for theory and practitioners in that it clarifies which firms are most likely under specific conditions to make moves towards sustainability innovation. The paper makes a contribution in showing that extant research needs to be expanded with regard to motivations for innovation and that earlier models of sustainable entrepreneurship need to be refined. Abstract: Summary Since 1989, efforts to understand the nature of interfirm resource sharing in the form of industrial symbiosis and to replicate in a deliberate way what was largely self-organizing in Kalundborg, Denmark have followed many paths, some with much success and some with very little. This article provides a historical view of the motivations and means for pursuing industrial symbiosis—defined to include physical exchanges of materials, energy, water, and by-products among diversified clusters of firms. It finds that “uncovering” existing symbioses has led to more sustainable industrial development than attempts to design and build eco-industrial parks incorporating physical exchanges. By examining 15 proposed projects brought to national and international attention by the U.S. President’s Council on Sustainable Development beginning in the early 1990s, and contrasting these with another 12 projects observed to share more elements of self-organization, recommendations are offered to stimulate the identification and uncovering of already existing “kernels” of symbiosis. In addition, policies and practices are suggested to identify early-stage precursors of potentially larger symbioses that can be nurtured and developed further. The article concludes that environmentally and economically desirable symbiotic exchanges are all around us and now we must shift our gaze to find and foster them.
