Computer Program Abstracts The category Computer Program Abstracts provides a rapid means of communicating up-to-date information concerning both new programs or systems and significant updates to existing ones. Following normal submission, a Computer Program Abstract will be reviewed by one or two members of the IUCr Commission on Crystallographic Computing. It should not exceed 500 words in length and should follow the standard format given on page 189 of the June 1985 issue of the Journal [J. Appl. CrysL (1985). 18, 189190] and on the World Wide Web at http://www.iucr. ac. uk/journals/jac/software/. Correlation between DNA interactions and cytotoxic activity of four new ternary compounds of copper(II) with N-donor heterocyclic ligands
Priscila Pereira Silva,Wendell Guerra,Geandson Coelho dos Santos,Nelson G. Fernandes,Josiane N Silveira,Ana Maria da Costa Ferreira,Tiago Bortolotto,Hernán Terenzi,Adailton J. Bortoluzzi,Ademir Neves,Elene C. Pereira-Maia +10 more
TL;DR: The most potent complex is 4 with an IC50 value of 1.5±0.2μM, and all complexes are able to enter cells and inhibit cellular growth in a concentration-dependent manner, with an activity higher than that of the corresponding free ligands.

Quenching of tryptophan fluorescence in various proteins by a series of small nickel complexes.
Heather F. Crouse,Julianne Potoma,Farhat Nejrabi,Deanna L. Snyder,Balwant S. Chohan,Swarna Basu +5 more
TL;DR: A series of twelve anionic, cationic, and neutral nickel(II) complexes have been synthesized and characterized in this article, and the interaction of these complexes with bovine serum albumin (BSA), HSA, Lysozyme (Lyso), and tryptophan (Trp) has been studied using steady-state fluorescence spectroscopy.

Vanadium complexes with 2-pyridineformamide thiosemicarbazones: In vitro studies of insulin-like activity
Isolda C. Mendes,Leida Maria Botion,Adaliene Versiani Matos Ferreira,Eduardo E. Castellano,Heloisa Beraldo +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, the reaction of VOCl 2 with 2-pyridineformamide thiosemicarbazone (H2Am4DH) and its derivatives in ethanol gave as products [VO 2 (2Am 4DH)Cl 2 ] ( 1 ), [VO(H2 am4DH), [VO2 (2am4Me)] (2), [V2 (Am4Me), N (4)-methyl (H 2Am4Et), N(4)-ethyl, and N ( 4)-phenyl), and [VO (

Ferromagnetic Coupling in a New Copper(II) Schiff Base Complex with Cubane Core: Structure, Magnetic Properties, DFT Study and Catalytic Activity
Santarupa Thakurta,Partha Roy,Partha Roy,Ray J. Butcher,M. Salah El Fallah,Javier Tercero,Eugenio Garribba,Samiran Mitra +7 more
TL;DR: A tetranuclear complex, [Cu4L4]·2H2O (1), has been synthesized from the self-assembly of copper(II) perchlorate and the tridentate Schiff base ligand 4-chloro-2-[(E)-(2-hydroxyethylimino)methyl]phenol (H2L) as mentioned in this paper.

Multistate/multifunctional systems. A thermodynamic, kinetic, and photochemical investigation of the 4'-dimethylaminoflavylium compound.
Ana C. A. Roque,Carlos Lodeiro,Fernando Pina,Mauro Maestri,Stephane Dumas,Paolo Passaniti,V. Balzani +6 more
TL;DR: The 4'-dimethylaminoflavylium ion in aqueous solution undergoes an intricate network of chemical reactions controlled by pH and light excitation, and the results obtained show that the flavylium cation is strongly stabilized by the electron-donor character of the dimethylamino substituent on the benzene ring.
